Let's let our congressmen and senators Know what our agenda is ...
before and after January... One of the top things I think that they should be legislating on is Homelessness and affordable housing... What are others that should be on the list besides the investigations and sending a lot of these hypocrites to the pokey..

2. Not to be too cynical but -
how much do our congress critters really care about what we think now that they have been elected?

3. Much of what they care about
will be up to us. Just because someone has a D after their name, doesn't mean they will work to bring about the changes that concern most of us - so we'll have to keep reminding them why they're there; what we expect - and especially, that we'll work just as hard to replace them with better candidates as we did with the R's.

4. Can you substantiate that?
"Much of what they care about will be up to us."

Looks like wishful thinking to me. But, heck, I've been wrong.
Tell me why, "Much of what they care about will be up to us."

7. If they don't , they should because....
if they haven't learned by now what the repugs have just learned, they will get what they deserve also. There are plenty of Democrats that I don't like and who may feel safe but the people are watching because so many are hurting and these issues are not being reported by the media. There are others who I know who have begun to talk about politics ,the world situation, have begun to attend meetings and protests, write letters because they now realize that we are in a dire situation ,and now have become well informed. These are reasons why I believe that the Dems better listen to the people...

6. Wellness, not just health care
Our whole emphasis in our health care system is in taking care of a disease we have already gotten. I believe that if wellness were emphasized (telling people what they need to do to stay well in the short and long run) we would have fewer people with chronic illnesses, and our hospitals wouldn't be overwhelmed when acute illnesses like the flu break out.

8. Accountability. For those who started this war and pressed it on.
Stopping the war and holding those responsible for it accountable. All the way to the top.

Accountability OVER ALL.

And then, global warming issues, health care issues, helping the poor, and supporting our troops by helping our veterans.

It should be pounded home that HOMELAND SECURITY means more than just fightin' terr. It means a SECURE HOMELAND. Where people have good jobs with decent pay. Where people can afford health insurance so they're not panicked and bankrupted by a serious illness or injury to the family. Where there is proper, decent shelter for EVERYONE, whether it's a clean, dry shelter for a homeless person or it's affordable housing for young families or for the elderly on fixed incomes. A secure homeland means everyone in America goes to bed knowing they have a full tummy from dinner, and can look forward to a full tummy in the morning after a decent breakfast - that NO ONE knows the pain, fear, desperation, and anguish of hunger. So that every American knows that the safety net WILL BE THERE if anything really cataclysmic happens to them. That they won't fall through the cracks if indeed they're in the same boat as millions of others are - one or two paychecks away from oblivion. THAT, TOO, is "Homeland Security." It's not how many brown-skinned, bearded guys we shoot with guns. It's how we care for the least of our brethren HERE AT HOME.
