Jeb Bush - GOP Darkhorse '08?
Term limited out as Florida Gov, skipped running for FL Sen, married to a Mexican, speaks fluent Spanish, the Fundis love him for Schivo, elected in a Dem State, will carry FL's electorial votes, the die-hard Bushies will back him, has the family machine connections...

And Rudy, McCain, and Romney don't seem up to it, imo.

Im sure america would just love another Bush in office right now.....NOT! I doubt the Bush family will ever get anyone in national office ever again after what Georgie has done to this country...america has awoken to what the Bush family means for america.

24. Never again!
Surely this nightmarish experience with this awful president will inoculate us now and forever against having any more Bushes anywhere near the levers of power. Is there another family that has been so destructive to America?

I'm remembering that W's grandfather did business with Hitler, and didn't Poppy do a lot of business with the bin Laden family? These Bushes sure are cozy with America's enemies!

Edited on Sun Dec-10-06 07:39 PM by lyonn
and the "real" Reagan, the one who destroyed the economy. They forgot Viet Nam. Never underestimate the ability of people to forget history. If only our media would help remind the people, hell, just whip out a few video tapped speeches by the evil doers, that shouldn't be too much trouble or cost that much. Otherwise we may get another bushie in office.

Where were some of the clips from the Gates nomination hearing in 2001(?)? Nothing to see there it seems.

40. We have the Internet now: It is the nation's collective memory...
When they strove to seize control of the nation starting in 1980, I seriously doubt the neo-cons understood how the Internet would eventually work against them. They probably thought all they had to do was gain control of the traditional media outlets to propagandize, but the Internet undermined this effort and put a stop to their desire to establish a permanent fascist state.

I don't really believe the Corporate Media's constant rantings that "the people have short memories when it comes to politics." They may want it that way, and it might have been true when the Corporate Media controlled the message, but not now. We just need to keep the Internet free...

45. Ah, thanks for the reminder, the internet!
This truly is something the repubs had not considered. Who would have thought 2 or 3 years ago that the internet would become a substitute for newspapers and the tv media. Youtube is a real biggie! Who knows how much bigger the internet will be for the masses, IF the govt. doesn't put restrictions on it where we cannot speak freely or cause it to become too costly for the average person.

4. I've been saying it for awhile now. I fully expect Jeb to come out and run. McCain is going to get
smashed by the slime machine that the BFEE has in place and Jeb is going to step up to the plate. Dubya has been setting up the White House with all the powers to hand over to another true believer. Scary thing is, Jeb is the smart one.

27. I think he got the promise alright, but I don't believe they plan to actually
pay up on that promise. 1st rule, NEVER trust the BFEE. They basically did the same thing to Guiliani with Bernie Kerrick. I don't believe for a second that Bernie's problems weren't known by the BFEE, they wanted to send a warning to Rudy that they would have plenty more of that waiting for him if he ran in 08.

Not to mention, Jeb is a signatory of the PNAC documents, he's the only one that didn't get some kind of high power DC job. I don't believe that PNAC will give up their power when they still have a shiny Bush under the tree. A Bush that will be able to fool people into thinking that he's a moderate. He can play the game unlike Dubya. I fear Jeb running because I think he'd be able to make enough voters think he's worth giving a shot and won't be nearly as bad as Dubya.

13. Heck, I thought I read a couple of weeks ago that Jeb was chased
down the street by an angry mob! I doubt if that's happened to too many promising prospective presidential candidates in the past.

Or is my memory really playing me false? It would sure be a first in a matter like this.

Whatever the case, I don't think any candidate with the name Bass, never mind Bush, would get a sniff at a congressional candidacy, never mind the Oval Office for the next 1000 years.

31. Jeb, good for the environment, good for America..... but from what
I saw in Fl, the environment would fare a tad better if he weren't calling the shots re: the Everglades.

http://www.saveoureverglades.org/
Still, we are gravely concerned that because of other national priorities, the federal government may reduce funding for its share of the 30-year project. Under the current federal-state plan, the majority of the water CERP captures should be devoted to environmental restoration and reviving a dying ecosystem--with the remaining water supplies allocated to cities and agriculture sustaining the south Florida economy.

With the advent of the state's plan to step up the pace on eight of the CERP's key restoration projects in October of 2004, many scientists fear that the original intent of the restoration effort to proovide benefits to the natural system may be compromised in favor of urban development, agriculture, industry and other interests. Without careful oversight, the environmental needs of the ecosystem might get left behind.

33. I have been saying this for months...
they are going to run JEB..you betcha...no secret to this, and no mystery either...Jr. has already stated it's Jeb's turn...and that it's only right that he gets to take his place at the top...natural line of succession, after all....pop, Jr, young'un....yep...that's the way it's gonna be...get used to it, and we better plan accordingly...by picking our candidate wisely...
Certainly we don't still think that 800 signing statements have been done for no reason? or that all the finagling with the constitution, habeas corpus, etc., has been done just for the hell of it? People make plans for what they intend to do, the power grabbing wasn't for no reason...they were surprised this election, but it won't happen again...so our Democratic congress had better jump right into the election securing mode as soon as they take office...(if they get too, that is)....

Bush lite would not be viewed as that much of an improvement on a Bush. And in combination?!?! You have lost your marbles.

That picture of McCain hugging Bush, like a 2-year old in a particularly clingy mood, will have finished McCain politically, on its own.
