1. I like Obama as a VP choice in 2008
Then he could run in 2016.

12. Gore/Dean is good...
...I think Obama is a rock star right now and would bring in a lot of the young vote.

20. Agreed, except for the Obama == rock star meme.
Gore/Dean or Dean/Kucinich. That's the ticket.

5. Obama should wait. He's too eager. 2 years and then a presidential run?
Besides his lack of experience, he'll look extremely opportunistic once his honeymoon period ends.

14. But Lincoln's presidency wasn't as glorious as it's made out to be.
It was full of turmoil and aside from the war (toward the end, at that) it was seen as an ineffective administration.

24. You're right, that can certainly be true.
Experience is "relevant, but not determinative."

Just not my first choice, or the ticket most likely to achieve victory.

So....no.

The war was going to happen regardless. North vs South sentament had been festering for years. There was little Lincoln could do about that except preserve the Union...which he did.

28. Drive-by insult strikes again...
Again, I ask: Do you have any actual reasons for disliking Gore? Reasons perhaps based on reality, not on your unsubstantiated opinion?

I repeat: AL GORE WON IN 2000.

21. Gore Obama, Gore with anyone
is fine with me, i just want him to run. Hillary is more of a retread than Gore is. We need another Clinton like we need another Bush. There are many, many people who lost races and have come back 2 or 4 or 8 years later and won them. Reagan. Nixon. I think Obama can help energize people because he is fresh blood and Gore has the knowledge and experience. I would go for it.

26. It should have been Feingold the first time. It was between him and Lieberman.
And he chose Lieberman...I'd guess at the insistence of party officials.
