McCain: U.S. may have to confront Iran militarily
From JTA (Jewish Telegraphic Agency):

A nuclear Iran poses an “unacceptable risk” and may have to be confronted militarily, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said.

--snip--

“We will defeat terrorism against America and we will stand with Israel as she fights the same enemy,” McCain said.

McCain was given an honorary doctor of law degree at the event, which also featured an appreciation for philanthropist Ronald Stanton, whose $100 million gift to Yeshiva University is the largest donation ever to Jewish education in North America.

:sarcasm:

OK, so the economy will go into the tank too....oh and China and Russia would be a tad pissed at us...but hey, it might be just the thing to finally kill democracy in the US once and for all!!! All those protests would demand martial law.

Wait a minute.... I thought McCain't was gonna kill himself if the Democrats took the House and Senate...

11. John I know you did your time in unfiform
but you may want to go down to the Pentagon and ask what is the status of US Troops

After you do that, answer this question... with what army?

God there are days.

Now I'll say it, haivng a nuclear iran does not give me the warm fuzzy, but what are they going to do? Face destruction from a well armed Israel? We survived our cold war... they will as well

...much as Iran (and her Russian and Chinese sugar daddies) like yanking the U.S. and Israel's chain, I think America isn't going to get behind a war with Iran over nose-thumbing.

It's obscene, inflammatory nose-thumbing. But at this point, just nose-thumbing. But they know the U.S. is an old, tired dog, and they can get their digs in as much as they like. I have no doubt if Adolph Hitler was alive, Ahmadinejad would happily invite him to the "holocaust conference" and when Hitler himself denied it abruptly end the conference with "Well, there you have it from the horse's mouth!"

The Iraq war has destroyed so many things the U.S. once could count on. China and Russia (and Iran, no doubt, still fresh with memories of our overthrow of their government and installation of the Shah) enjoy baiting us, greatly.

The only thing they would enjoy more, I believe, is if we actually took one stumbling swipe at Iran, and fell right into the pit they've dug.
