"I saw an engaged President, asking deep, clarifying questions .... "
That was the gist of remarks by some heretofore unknown Republic apologist, on MSNBC, describing Junior's demeanor in his "DiscoverTour06" appearances to date.

Gimme a fucking break. That motherfucking monkey wouldn't know a salient question if it bit him in the red spot on his baboon ass.

About the same way he digested the pretzel. He'll most likely choke on this as well.

12. colorful phrasing -- and, of course, dead on....
When we finally get back to having a real, engaged President again; Dubya will take his presidential pension and fade away like a hangover....like Nixon.

Republicans will continue to defend him and use rhetorical smoke and mirrors to make him look like a real President. It falls to us to continue to cut through the crap and call him what he was and is. That is a walking, talking, smirking disaster destined for the dustbin of history.

30. True enough, but unless this cartoon president has to resign in disgrace,
like Nixon, I don't doubt Repuke history revisionists will do for him what they did for Saint Reagan.

13. Hey that's the new RNC talking point! I heard it on the Today Show!
Same damn thing! These idiots! Don't they know we can put this together really easily?

They are stupider than I thought. Can't you just see these guys plotting what the next tactic will be. "Yeah, he's 'engaged.' Yeah that's it! He's 'listening.' That's good, they'll fall for that!"

Total idiots.

14. Either that or he was having a flashback to the Clinton administration.
No one will believe that about Bush anymore except the most ignorant and clueless of freepers. Those lying propagandizing pundits really need to give it up. They are nothing more than laughing stock to the majority of the world.

23. I remember back in college . . . it was the 70s
I think the more perspicacious DUers can do the math on that one. Back then, I saw many interesting things as well. Sadly, none of them were any more real than the illusion of George W. Bush being engaged and asking deep questions.

"clarifying questions" = framing to fit the answers I want, explaining my position throughout my question, so it shapes the answer to fit.

Clarifying Answers are what we need, what we deserve, and what we cannot EVER expect to get from this pResident.

like a hard-to-train pet ( a monkey, perhaps?), everyone squeals with delight when he performs a trick- in this case it's called "asking a question".

while either not listening to or completely disregarding the answers.

But as long as he thinks he looks "engaged", he thinks he's doing his job. Presidentin' is just a big photo-op for W.
