Gore supporters - who do you support if Gore doesn't run?
Just thought I'd ask this since there are so many people here who favor Gore as their first choice.

Personally, I like Gore an awful lot and would seriously consider backing him if he runs (I don't think he will, though).

But if he DOES NOT run, who do you favor among the likely candidates? Hillary Clinton? Barack Obama? John Edwards? Wes Clark? John Kerry? Joe Biden? Evan Bayh? Tom Vilsack? Bill Richardson?

1. For me, it's between Wesley Clark and John Edwards
Subject to change based on what I hear from Obama.

2. Either Clark or Edwards
Maybe Bayh as a distant third. I like Obama, but there guy should wait until 2012 or 2016. He still doesn't have enough experience. If he were elected in, say, 2000 to the Senate seat, or even 2002, then I would support him, but experience will hurt him in the election.

Did you see him on Hardball? He's stellar, and so is Elizabeth.

5. Ask me again in six months.
Everything is just conjecture at this point. There's no way to know what our options are.

8. I want Gore, but my 2nd choice would be Wesley Clark.
I have a feeling Kerry won't be running, but I'd back him all the way if he did.

No one else on the list will do for me. Now is the time for someone with a great deal of wisdom to get this country back into shape. Middle-of-the-road rhetoric meant to appeal to the broadest base doesn't cut it at this point, imho. Save the people pleasers for when this country isn't in such dire straits.

9. Obama orClark
Obama or Clark are my first tier--riqht on the war from the qetgo and have a shot at being elected. Theyre followed by Edwards and maybe Richardson. I love Kucinich but its hard to see how he gets elected. Not thrilled with any of the rest.

13. I haven't really chosen
I think it's way too early. At this time in the last presidential election schedule, I'd never heard of Howard Dean.

Of the names floated so far, I prefer Gore. Also like Edwards, Obama, and Clark. But some other great candidate will probably surface.

14. So many choices, too few votes...
I'd be happy with Clark, Obama, Edwards or Clinton. They're all impressive! And I have yet to see a strong Repub candidate...except for Chuck Hagel, he kinda scares me...young, probably good-looking to soccer moms, strong military experience, blah, blah, blah.

18. Again, it's an embarrassment of riches
I'd be happy with Edwards, Clark, Obama, and am glad that Kucinich is running again. I for one would be more than happy to pull the lever for Gore come Nov. 08, but would be just as happy if he felt that he could get more work done without being in the oval office. I am heartened by the fact that he doesn't seem to feel the need to be president in order to be a leader.

22. Edwards
He has many of the markings of a old time Dem.As I have said before The battleground will be In
the Midwest, and The West.Edwards has the making of a Democrat who can win In the Midwest(he has developed connections with organized labor) and he can be competitive In The west.Plus Edwards could
make Republicans spend time In a couple of Southern states.Edwards has more than anyone who voted to
authorize the war to say he was wrong.I respect that. Also polls suggest he would do best against
Mccain(he runs 4 points behind Mccain while others run 8 or more points behind him) I also think
Clark would be a good choice. He Is smart and Is very progressive for being a General. Now I like Obama
and If he were to get the nomination I would have no reservation voting for him but the MSM Is just
waiting to use the Inexperience against him.I would rather see him as VP(which may happen whoever
gets the nomination) but here Is a serious question. Can a woman(Hilary) or a Black man(Obama) actually win In places Gore or Kerry didn't.As for Kerry I like how he acted in 2005 2006 better than
his last campaign but If he runs again I don't think he gets very far(If he would I would be more
enthusiastic about him than In 2004) and as for Kucinich I am glad he Is running, and If he can build up
some support In the debates I would be open to reconsidering him since he Is 100 percent right on
Iraq.

After Gore and Clark, maybe Dean?

I hope you're wrong, predicting Gore won't run.
