But Gates is Poppy's guy, not Chimpolini's.

L'il Boots is pissed as hell about the Iraq report and the dissing he took.

Gates is probably under orders from poppy to get it right and do it fast.

Chimpo is dead set against changing course and is resentful of the grownups kicking his ass.

This sets up a power struggle between Monkeyboy and Gates - who by proxy is, indeed, Poppy.

This whole dysfunctional family's bullshit will be played out in limos racing from the White House to the Pentagon.

We've all seen what happens when you cross Bush. He really doesn't care who he hurts or what's going on in Iraq -- he'll always think he's winning in Iraq, so he feels justified in doing whatever the hell he wants.

3. I don't see it as between 41 and 43, but the neocons and the CIA.

It's Gates against Cheney, I think. 43 is just the fall guy needed when the economy collapses. I'm going to put my money on Gates, I think as the neos seem to be eating their own right now.
