First this:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16211364

Then this:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061214/ap_on_go_co/johnson_succession

You can at least wait to see if his condition deteriorates to a point where this crap become postworthy, assholes.

Disgusting. Even the GOP showed more class this time than these news idiots.

1. They sure are.
Especially, Scarborough.

Honorable mentions go out to Dana Bash and Lou Dobbs. Can't give an opinion of Fox because I don't watch it.

3. It's got potential for high political drama.
The man's life doesn't mean anything to them -- but they see an opportunity to make ratings hay with hours and hours of wild speculation about what "could" happen.

It's really simple. The name of their game is drama = ratings = $$$.

4. The story is over. Senator Johnson will live. They are wringing the last
vestiges out of a story that had great potential.
Senator Johnson will be back in fine form. I feel it!

5. Sick
All of this media speculation about whether or not Tim Johnson's medical condition is going to send control of the US Senate back to the GOP (on a technicality no less) is fast becoming a bizarre, disgusting, not to mention "ghoulish" spectacle. I believe that such speculation about what MIGHT happen is premature at best and now is NOT the time for the GOP and MSM to be focusing on the political ramifications of Mr. Johnson's medical condition and prospects for recovery. Just when I think that they can't sink any lower, they continually surprise me about the depths to which they are willing to stoop. And they once accused us of using the death of the late Paul Wellstone for political advantage? Puh-leeeze!!!:grr:

6. If Dan Rather got fired how come
the person who wrote this piece, did not know that the governor of South Dakota could only appoint a replacement if needed BUT they would have to have a special election to fill the position. How come the dont' fire this writing for posting incorrect information. And besides, what makes them say that the republicans would be able to take the leadership of the senate from the democrats. The count would be even and just because cheney would vote to break a tie, does not mean the republicans would take over.

8. I don't see it that way...
the ramifications of his death would be so big, it would seem odd if they didn't discuss them. Plus, they're answering a lot of questions people have.

Reporting on something and taking delight in it are two very different things.
