Chris Matthews just mentioned a Gore/Obama ticket... |
|
He said this could be a ticket that would scare the devil out ofthe Repubs. It would indeed be a ticket for the future. Al Gore, the premier leader on global warming, as the leader and Borack Obama with a few years of VP experience under his belt, would be an ideal Democratic candidate for the future. I could sponsor this!

...Gore is great and he deserves it - and he's already won before!
Obama only has 8 years to be president (if he's lucky) and they should be 8 of his best years!

3. I think it would be a winner |
|
There are many people concerned about climate change - and Gore is the core of this concern. Obama would be great as VP. There is too much baggage with Clinton, Kerry and I don't think Clark (a favorite) can impress with accomplishments as much as Gore.

9. Not putting down Gore here, at all, but Clark's accomplishments |
|
are so plentiful, it would take you a year to read through them all; so, I don't quite understand what you're saying.
If you're alleging the media will just ignore Clark again, then I agree. If you're saying Clark hasn't done as much as Gore, then I beg to differ - a lot.

6. Three words: Gore is due. |

He alone can claim the title of being the only one in the field of contenders who actually beat Bush with the popular vote.

7. I heard it and I agree. I was glad Murphy brought Gore up. |
|
It was the first time I've heard Tweety admit how bad the press (and himself in particular) was to Gore in 2000. He questioned whether Gore would want to deal with all that crap again but he even sounded positive toward Gore running.
The Dem pundit (I'm blanking on his name) said he would love to work for Gore.
It sounded good.
Gore/Obama - I likkkeeeyyy muchoooo!

...Obama is ready? I mean, he's impressive, obviously has the desire and determination, but I'm not sure. There's something about him that says "Very close, but not quite ready." Having said that, I'd much rather see a Gore/Obama ticket than I would anything with Hilary on it. In fact, I don't really see anything, momentum not shifting too much, that could touch that ticket from the republicans. I think we have several potentially "sexy" tickets. Gore/Obama, Edwards/Obama, Edwards/Bayh, Gore/Bayh. Now, in 12 years from now, and you can say you heard it first from me, THE winning ticket for the Dems will be Obama/Newsom.

10. Based on history, Obama would be more likely to jump to the Presidency from |
|
VP then from the Senate.
But, of course, historical precedences get broken all the time so we'll see.

12. Considering that you've got a lot of Edwards/* there..... |
|
I would suggest that Obama is more than ready for the Veep spot to Gore's Prez position....
As far as a "Sexy" tickets, I'm not sure that a "Sexy" ticket is what is gonna fix the mess that we are in. Guess it would be fun for those who are into that sort of thing when watching the Teevee, but fortunately for me, I'm not one of them. I'm looking for competence and leadership to understand what is up from the get-go....while "sexy" is wayyyyy overated from where I sit. I've got a husband for that, maybe that's why I don't fing your argument compeling.

13. I didn't mean "Sexy" in the way you're thinking... |
|
...I meant "sexy" in terms of appeal. It's a term we use in the IT field all the time. For example, you may hear a network engineer say, "Man, Ubuntu has got to be the sexiest version of Linux I've ever seen." Or, in the same way Steve Jobs used it to describe the IPod.

This, is literally , THE, ticket. It scares the shit out of the entire establishment, but the people will eat it up.
We have reached a tipping point in this Country's history, and with the internets people have been able to connect and realize it.
Although it may not come in my lifetime, America may live up to it's promise and potential when a Gore/Obama team set it on the progressive path JFK envisioned and inspired.
We may actually saves our selves........

24. If Chris Matthews wants to redeem himself, he first has to apologize |
|
for belittling Gore prior to the 2000 election for things that really didn't mean shit. My dad always says that the position makes the man. If Chris had the ability to look through the superficial crap, he would have realized that Gore would have made a fabulous president.
I wonder what it's going to feel like, being known as the man who took out Gore without firing one shot? History should not be kind to pundits like Chris Matthews either.

34. Its just an MSM talking point |
|
Edited on Sat Dec-16-06 02:26 AM by Jennicut
All day long, I has MSM on as I was cleaning my house afte rmy 1 and 2 year olds destroyed it, love them anyways. Every talking head on MSM was chatting up Gore possibly running in 08 and all were putting a positive spin on it, which was nice for a change. Tweety was probably just toting the company line. Still, my choices for 08 is Gore/Obama, Gore/Edwards, or Gore/Clark. I hope Gore does run in the end, we need him. If not, then we still have Clark and Edwards, I only want Obama as VP, needs more experience. At least Edwards and Clark have presidential campaigns behind him.
