"What do we do when we lose this war.."
"Plan for the next one.."

Heard this on "The Cross of Iron" movie last night with James Coburn.

Brecht:

"Don't rejoice in his defeat, you men. For though the world stood up and stopped the Bastard, the Bitch that bore him is in heat again"

2. James Coburn. One of those actors who, if he was in the movie, you knew
it would be at least watchable, even if not really good.

Like Michael Caine. I'd watch ANY movie he was in, because I knew it'd be good.

8. Apparently, you've never seen . . .
"Blame It On Rio," "The Swarm," or "Jaws IV."

The most accurate description I've read about Michael Caine is that he is often the best thing in a bad movie. Damed fine actor, but the occasional bad career choice.

10. That can also be said about

Jeff Bridges or Sissy Spacek.
But I doubt it has ever been said about Kevin Costner or Cameron Diaz. That he/she is the best thing in a bad movie, that is.

(Edit: Sorry I burst into your conversation. )

6. Cross of Iron is great!
We do not even conceptualize war compared with those on the Eastern Front in WWII.
