So ... my brother now favors impeachment ......
My brother is a good Democrat and has always been so. As he follows me toward 60 years on this earth, he has become a bit more small-L libertarian, but he's still essentially the same liberal guy he's always been.

We're usually not very far apart on issues and we discuss them frequently .... even though we're on opposite coasts.

Yesterday we spoke for about an hour. I had been saying for a long time in our conversations how I felt about impeachment .... how it is our honor bound duty to do it once we get serious investigations going in Congress. He'd been of a mind that, strategically, it might do more harm than good to the liberal cause ..... you know ... the 'blowback' argument that's surfaced in light of the Clinton Blowjob Trials thing.

Well, now he's on board. There was no particular thing that put him over the fence, although the recent 'surge' shit may have been the final straw.

He's a school adminstrator in (far) Southern California. Most of his collagues, not surprizingly, are also liberals, although there are a few Republicans in the bunch. Most of them were also against impeachment but are now starting to turn.

I honestly think that, as time goes by in the next few months, the calls for impeachment will be openly dicussed, even in the Three Monkey Media.

There simply seems to me no good reason not to favor it. We in the hyperawareness community KNOW there are real crimes there. The masses will be finding it out in short order. The clamor will go out for Il Dunce's head on the figurative platter.

I have faith and I have hope.

We WILL get our country back. Damaged and severely bruised. But I'm of a mind that we are at the beginning of a generational shift from Republican back to Democrat. Impeachment is necessary to show that it is the DEMOCRATS who favor the 'rule of law' over the 'rule of lynch them for political gain'. And necessary to show that our country will NOT tolerate criminals at the helm.

1. I'm moving on this issue also. More in favor.
It was the threat of having Cheney as the tie-breaker in the Senate that put me over the top on this. BushCo would allow Cheney to do ABSOLUTELY whatever he wants if he got into that position. Unlike Democrats, they would have no scruples about what is good for the U.S.

2. ain't it sweet to know...
...that those who promised to drown liberalism in the bathtub and turn America into a permanent Republican empire have been forced to see their plans and hopes brutally repudiated because they overreached and allowed a filthy cabal to hijack the reins of power?

3. Yeah, it sure is.
I'm really feeling there's a tectonic shift afoot in this country. It is still small and way down deep, but I can sense it in my toes .... I can feel it rising up.

4. Unfortunately, it should be clear that our reps aren't going to impeach
Reid has signed off on the escalation, Gates was confirmed 97-2, and we'll soon have another $100B of taxes consgned to killing people for no good reason.

We were hoodwinked last month into believing Smirk would be held to account, but it ain't going to happen.

5. My two cents worth
says that there WILL be an impeachment because the people ain't gonna let it die especially if derchimpster does his "I'm the decider" role again and totally disregards the Iraq report, which it appears he and
condee - liesalot are doing willy nilly.

People in my area have had it with this guy and they just want to get rid of him. I thought I heard on CNN tonight his ratings were like 28%? Was Poppy's ever that low?

7. They'll do it if the repukes take the initiative. And they (pubs) may need
to do it to resurrect the party after the damage they ALLOWED * to do.

8. Can I start dreaming about a trial for war crimes?
And any other crime committed under this disgusting administration.

The idea of impeachment gratifies me only to the point that G.W.Bush deserves it. The process was practically designed for someone who abused and misused his power as he did and does.
If it will happen, and how far it would go if it does remains to be seen

Good for your brother.
