Why I cannot Support Kerry |
|
I cannot support Kerry for three major reasons
3) He is a member of Skull and Bones Society. In a word, he and Bush are Brothers. Kind of like voting for Jebby.
2) He voted for Iraq War II and against Iraqi War I. Sounds like he is a little backwards.
1) He would support the Defense of Marriage Amendent to the Consitutition.
Sorry, but that pisses me off. The last one was too much for me now and I cannot back him. Not that he can win anyway. But I don't think Democrats can back someone that could vote this way.

1. I support Clark, but... |
|
I don't see what is so wrong with Skull and Bones. They are a secret society, how do we know what they are up too. Kerry and Bush were not in it at the same time.
Kerry is against Iraq War now, just like his past Vietname protest days.
He said he might support it depending on the language.

This statement, ,He would support the Defense of Marriage Amendent to the Consitutition, is demonstrably false. A Washington Post article 7/11/03 reprinted from Kerry's website: In the wake of the Supreme Court's decision striking down a Texas law against sodomy, Kerry said he remains opposed to gay marriages but said he would oppose any constitutional amendment to outlaw such marriages on grounds that it was "gay bashing."http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/clips/news_2003_0711b.html

17. Kerry is considering supporting an anti-gay amendment in Massachusetts |
|
http://www.sltrib.com/2004/Feb/02062004/nation_w/136289.aspAsked if he would support a state constitutional amendment barring gay and lesbian marriages, Kerry didn't rule out the possibility. "I'll have to see what language there is," he said.

I am gay and i could still let his recent anti-gay pandering pass, but i absolutely will not support a candidate who chose to get people killed for nothing, rather than risk losing an election.

Why not just be constructive and tell us why you support your candidate rather than tearing at a potential nominee? Can't find anything worth saying about yours?

8. I think you're being a little unfair |
|
Kerry hasn't earned my vote but:
3) I'm unaware of anything in the S&B charter that says members must agree on political positions. Some people find this shared experience significant, but I have a hard time believing in anything that supposedly binds college boys for life.
2) It is backwards. But I admit Kerry has shown more willingness to ackowledge the damage done by the Iraq war than Lieberman, Bush and Edwards . I'm willing to wait and see how he plays it in the GE, if he makes it.
1) He did not say he would support it. He did weasel and worm, and has tried to throw a sop to the bigots, but don't overstate his position. The fact that he did not outright condemn it is damning enough, but he did not support it.

19. "more willingness to acknowledge the damage done...than |
|
Lieberman, Bush or Edwards"??
One of these is a Republican and one isn't running any more. That leaves Edwards (and I agree on your statement about him). What you've just said is that Kerry has a better stance on the war than Edwards...O.K., I'll agree, but there are other candidates who have much more palatable views than this.

Kerry is and has been the pro-war candidate, the pro-war DLC's candidate and the entrenched establishment democratic candidate. That is his on the record position.

I recall that post by WilliamPitt a few weeks back defending Kerry but all I can say is, the whole World knew it was fabricated evidence and was protesting and he believed Bush. That makes him either naive or stupid and both are traits that disqualify him in my book.

11. Your vote your choice but remember |
|
This is about removing the worst pResident in all of American history from office he and more specifically the people he surrounds himself with Rove, Wolfowitz, Rummy, crash cart Cheney are truly dangerous people. They do not give a F$%# about Democracy or Rights just look at their record. They only care about Power & Greed thats it the rest is window dressing for the masses. If you help give these megalomaniacs 4 more years because the Dem candidate who wins the nomination has this view or that view you won't recognize the USA come 2008 it will be a complete F&%$ horror show.

12. Did you notice that both rich wives are connected to S&B too? |
|
1st wife Julia Thorne ($300 million) is the sister to Kerry Skull & Bones friend David Thorne. Teresa Heinz ($700 million) is the widow of John Heinz who was also Skull and Bones.
Odd huh?

How nice of you to tell us how Democrats can vote.
I don't support Kerry in the primaries either. But, if he is the Democratic candidate, I will vote for him.
Most of America would vote for a dead rat rather than Bush. I'm quoting one of our soldiers now.
We kinda have the lying sleaze's number now. You know which sleaze I mean, the one who didn't report even for easy duty for his last two years at the Texas Air National Guard.

16. If nominated, I'll vote for him in the general election, but.... |
|
He cannot be trusted to act with courage. A man of courage (Senator Robert Byrd) refused to cede authority to the President to invade Iraq on his whim. Kerry should have stood with Byrd. Kucinich and Dean were not fooled, why was Kerry?
He cannot be trusted any more than Clinton to support families by stopping the drug war and utilizing rehabilitation instead of building prisons.
If nominated, he'll be my president. But I don't think he'll be my favorite.

20. I didn't see a post about the GE..this is about the primary, and I agree |
|
woth the original poster (maybe the S&B stuff isn't so important to me).
In the primary I won't support Kerry, either. If he wins the nomination, he'll get my vote, but nothing more. Personally, I believe that Kerry represents what's wrong with this party and I'll be damned if I'm going to support that.

party. It's awfully early to be defining Kerry as the lesser of two evils and awfully discouraging to those of us eager for real change.
