Damn hypocrites! Anti-abortion group: Omit 'heretical' Pelosi from sacrament
More B.S. from the 'holier than thou' crowd:

RAW STORY
Published: Tuesday December 19, 2006

An anti-abortion group is lobbying a Washington, DC Catholic Church to stop Speaker of the House-designate Nancy Pelosi from attending mass, RAW STORY has learned.

Rep. Pelosi, the California Democrat who will become the first woman to be Speaker of the House, is scheduled to attend mass at Washington, DC's Trinity College on January 3, 2007, the day before the 110th Congress opens. Trinity is an all-women's school from which Pelosi graduated in 1962.

But the American Life League wants Washington's Archbishop Donald Wuerl to "prevent from using the Mass for political gain," and has called on him to deny Pelosi Holy Communion. ALL argued that "Rep. Pelosi has been unwavering in her support for abortion and is downright defiant toward the Church's teachings on the sanctity of human life," and added, "it is shameful that Trinity College, a supposedly Catholic institution, has turned a blind eye to the heretical views Pelosi embraces."

The American Life League has previously called on the Catholic Church in the United States to deny Holy Communion to other politicians who favor preserving abortion rights. During the 2004 presidential campaign, anti-abortion advocates also encouraged the Catholic Church to deny communion to Senator John Kerry (D-MA).

Is not the American Life League doing exactly what they theoretically oppose - using Mass for political gain - by politicizing Pelosi's private right to practice her spirituality how ever she choses in the church of her choice? What a bunch of damn hypocrites! :grr:

4. Because these rapid religious freaks...
Have adopted Bush's "I am the decider" mentality. Judge not right? Ignore the war mongers and lier's that led us into this criminal war of aggression. Why not kick them out of Mass?

Again, what a bunch of B.S.!

3. Can you tell me where in the Bible
abortion is mentioned. Nowhere that I know of. So whose idea is it, all over the so called religious organizations that have decided that it is the Bible's teachings.

5. Well, when the priest of my parish stated before the election that
he would deny the sacrament of Holy Communion to John Kerry (code: don't vote for him,) six families walked out, along with their tithes.

I now attend a New Testiment Church. Never been happier.

8. I'm sorry
did Jesus ask about the political views of the disciples before He dined with them at the last supper? Surely not. These people are disgusting and their maniuplation of a sacred ritual for political ends is offensive.

9. perhaps time to change churches
-or- welcome to America, where one can shop for religion the same way one shops for shoes....

I'm sure that the U. Methodists would not mind her visiting...but she would have to get used to lots of hymn singing.

(I play music for services for a local U. Methodist church. They are ok folks.)
