They have gotten just about everything they wanted, and probably more than they expected. That is not "a kid", that is brilliant planning and execution. Sure Bush may be a sadistic sociopath, but he is
their sadistic sociopath and he fulfills the role his puppet masters require absolutely brilliantly. Barbara Bush, curse her Lizard womb, did once say when people thought George was dumb, "He's dumb, dumb like a fox". Take it to the bank.
So, ridicule Bush, he certainly deserves it, but keep in mind they have gotten so much of what they wanted and Bush with the bought and paid for Repuglicans and some rented Democrats have been their point men to do this. That is not stupid, or like a child, that is brilliant, evil as it may be. Planning over a 40 year period, a few billion spent, and they have enriched themselves and have twisted the course of a once great experiment called America with founded on the ideas of Liberalism with Liberty, Justice for all and Freedoms not thought possible, by many even today. They have perverted this country to their own ends and pulling it back may not be possible without people REALLY understanding what is happening.
That cannot happen without three things, I believe.1) First is an understanding of just how utter and complete a failure Conservatism, and its handmaiden, Libertarianism, really is.
1a) You know Libertarianism, Spoiled kids in a Candy store, thinking it all belongs to them by "right" but not wanting to pay for it, nor the infrastructure that allows it to be provided. Wanting all the natural rights without responsibility. Forgetting the part “that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men". 'Nuff said on that asshat sociopathic philosophy.
1b) You know Conservatism, the philosophy of
Preserving the status quo of the Haves at the expense and exploitation of the have nots. Geroge Lakoff pointed out its utter failure brilliantly in
Bush Is Not Incompetent.
2) The next is education. Jefferson was adamant that an educated electorate is vital for a functioning Democracy. Well, that is being lost more and more each day. There's a reason for the recent heavy emphasis on education like No Child Left Behind with heavy standardization of tests and ridiculous standards of conformity
destroying creativity and critical thinking. Stupefy the sheep and they can be led anywhere--the crazed Christians and Muslims are a perfect example! I sometimes suspect that some of the pollutions they are allowing (Mercury, Lead, etc.) are because of their side bonus of lowering IQ over generations!
3) Vision is required!! Without a vision of where you should go you are lost and easily manipulated and diverted; in essence brain dead, a body without a will. These ideas may be lofty, and should be. Perhaps, probably, unattainable (at least fully) but still something to aim for, to try for. Our founding fathers did this. Lincoln did this. FDR did this. Kennedy did this. Johnson's Great Society programs which cut poverty in half overnight did this. Many in history have done this and changed the course of humanity for the better. Ideas that inspire people to their better natures, their best efforts and understanding of brotherhood must be bought back.
Do we have this today? FUCK NO. There's a reason for this. That's also why the Repuglicans have been so successful. They know what they stand for -- greed and power -- and have articulated it very well to their followers over the years. Sure, they stole and hacked elections and pulled dirty tricks that would make Nixon spin, but they still could not have done it without the dupes, suckers, enablers, "leaders" they had. They also could not have done it without the Democrats. Finally, they could not have done this without that little bit of greed in all of us; that confusion that "Greed is Good" which is utter bullshit. Healthy self-interest that considers others and allows all to have win-win is good. Greed is not!
The Democrats have to better start figuring out how to articulate a real vision of the future for ALL and to push it out, despite the MSM and ignorance of the sheep. They should listen to FDR again and other great leaders and start setting a course for all. They have to start really listening to the grass roots and the populist movement because that is where the people who take an active interest in their country ARE!! “Centrists”, “Middle of the Road” is simply delusional bullshit for weak minds and aimless sheep who try to do good and think they stand for something, but really don’t; they need education! The Dems also have to eject big business/corporations (which are not people!) and big money from the party and from politics. They have to find new sources of financing (individual, government) for all politics. The Dems have to really stand for something positive and stick to it; this is their chance to do so, but I fell we have not yet felt the consequences and the pain from all our actions. More will need to happen, alas.
