1. Thanks! I really enjoy Thom's thoughts on this issue and
Dahr Jamail is always excellent. I check Juan Cole & Dahr Jamail most often to find out what is really going on in Iraq. The links: Hard News; Reports; Covering the MidEast; Daily Iraq Monitor are really worth checking out.

I've feared an attack on Iran for months now and I don't know how we are going to dodge this bullet.

As for Thom - I am looking forward to hearing more from him on Cheney's impending resignation, too. Thom has predicted that Cheney will resign in 2007 claiming "medical reasons". Why? Cheney can't run for Pres. in 2008 and the GOP needs a "moderate" R in office who could run in 2008.

5. Arlen Spector. Not entirely kidding...
Maybe John McCain? I think they would do better putting in a nearly no name person -- the less we know about him the better. He needs to have clean hands - if Bush is removed or stepped down - he needs to be able to remain.

:hi:

6. That's what they did with Gerald Ford. Before then no one knew
much about him and he was outside the loop of the inner circle, or so we were led to believe?

10. Mmmm-hmmm. Except, of course, Gerald Ford was on
the Warren Commission that "investigated" the JFK assassination. In other words - he was IN the inner sanctum of the GOP and did a good job lying. Like Arlen Spector did with the Magic Bullet theory.

11. Not that many people were following the Warren Commission
"whose who" back then, including me. So he was kind of an unknown to many of us although I agree he had to have had ties there.

Arlen Spector is just too crazy for me to swallow. *gag* But then most Republicans are. There are a few I like but I doubt if they would be allowed anywhere near the second highest office of the land.

14. I don't think they "put" Gerald Ford in
He was ahead of the House of Representatives. After they got rid of Nixon's vice president, then Nixon resigned, Ford was mandated as the next president by the Constitution.

15. I was alive and kicking then and I remember the scuttlebutt
on the news revolved around the fact that they had to get someone who wasn't tainted by Watergate, an outsider. Of course the news was probably spinning and spreading disinformation even back then.

16. Yeah okay, I remember that talk too.
But I think it was more like: they were happy that Ford wasn't involved with anything, which made the "impeachment" run more smoothly. (Technically, there was no impeachment only because Nixon resigned before it happened.)

Part of the discussion arose from the fact that Nixon's VP was Spiro Agnew---a guy so wacky the people were literally afraid to put him in charge of the country. Fortunately, they nailed him on some kind of charges before Nixon was ever impeached, said that scenario never arose. Some people said Nixon chose Agnew precisely to make himself impeachment-proof, just a speculation.

So when the actual impeachment occurred, people were commenting on the fact that Ford seemed, by contrast, "OK." On the other hand, may be Ford was chosen to lead the House with this in mind---I can't remember.

2. Listening, especially to the part about attacking Iran in March.
According to Scott Ritter if we see military being moved toward the ME in January, you can be sure it will be attacked in March. It seems * has already started sending ships there.

:scared:

If this is true, we got to get this guy out of the WH and his minions pronto.

4. Ritter
He's the guy that supplied much of the info I got before Gulf War Two, that proved the whole WMD thing was bogus pomp.

But, hasn't he been predicting the War on Iran for the last year? He knows his facts, but I don't think he's the best at calling future US maneuvers play by play.

7. Well, he's an ex-marine and has been considered an ME
expert for some time now.

Every time I hear him, whether on Randi, Al Franken or now Thom, he seems to have his facts on target and what he has said has worked out to be true.

8. Wow! The Press Corps thinks Bush has "gone off the rail"
:wow: Victoria doesn't want to say outright, "They think he's insane."

Says the Baker-Hamilton was "the Intervention" that his dad threw him.

Stunning.

13. Fasten your seat belts. It's going to be a bumpy ride come
January.

Our Dems may not have to do anything to remove him from office, but sit back and let the Republicans do it.
