Rove's Top Priority: Make the Dems look bad
Yet another in my RW blog guest appearances

I grew up during the Cold War. I remember thinking how odd it was that our Communist adversaries in Eurasia and elsewhere always spoke of "The Party" ahead of everything else. Membership was all but mandatory, especially to get the least bit ahead. I was always proud of our two-party system, where the interests of the country as a whole at least SEEMED to come first.

So today I read this, from the well-known socialist rag: US News and World Report:
—————————————————-
"One of Rove's theories is that the Democrats can be maneuvered into a series of difficult choices next year as they try to enact their legislative agenda and pass the federal budget. ... The central choice, according to Rove, will be to cut spending or raise taxes. If congressional Democrats cut spending, their liberal base will be alienated. If they raise taxes, rank-and-file voters will be unhappy."

Again proving that Rove is a jingoistic idiot who believes his own propaganda: "Democrats love to waste money and think of nothing else but." This from the group who has put us a few hundred billion dollars into the red. To continue:

"GOP insiders suspect that Rove also had a big hand in distancing Bush from the Iraq Study Group because he believed the bipartisan panel was too critical of current Iraq policy."

Call the waaaaaaaaambulance. Dose mean guys cwiticized the Pwesident.

"Rove, insiders say, believes that victory is still achievable and that Bush should pursue it as vigorously as he can. The president made those points at his news conference today."

You couldn't even see Karl's lips move.

So...despite all the charades about Bush's comprehensive 'listening tour' involving military experts, soldiers on the ground, etc to determine the new course in Iraq, it appears that his tour actually involved walking down the hall from the Oval Office to his political adviser, who incidentally is only one of the many Bush Administration war hawks with no military experience whatsoever (I think the term the GOP applied so energetically to Bill Clinton was "draft-dodger").

———————————————————————-

Nice to see the interests of the American people are always on the front burner at the Bush White House. To all of you who, for some unfathomable reason, think these guys are 'doing their best' for the long-term interests of America, please think again, or present your evidence.

Because I don't see it.

<Richardo>

1. It's all just a game to him
and unfortunately, the losers are the American people. With so many important issues facing this country, Rove is busy with bullshit like this. Makes ya sick.

4. I think the College Republicans should be outlawed
Nothing good has come from that organization. Quite the contrary.

7. I say we organize a massive Enlistment Campaign
for the College Repugnants. Then they can stop being hypocrits.

3. What I want to know is,
where is OUR Karl Rove? With all the contradictions and inconsistencies in the Republican party the Democrats should be able, with intelligent leadership, to maneuver THEM into unpopular and difficult choices. I have been waiting to no avail for someone to come forward with a natural ability and genius for political maneuvering and tactics in the Democratic Party. Surely the Republicans don't have a monopoly on this kind of ability.

6. Didn't Bill Clinton do just that? Outfoxed them?
That is why they hated him from the getgo.
They knew he was smarter than the whole lot of them.

17. The Repubs hated Clinton because he was able to outfox
them in the '92 elections, it's true, and because he incorporated many of their issues into his campaign and in his administration. I was mainly talking here about a campaign manager, like Rove, someone who would oversee and guide campaigns not only for the white house, but also in the house and senate. Clinton's campaign manager did a good job in '92, but the Dems lost both the house and senate in '94. The Repubs captured both houses that year, and then held them for twelve years. I would like to see the Dems hold onto the Congress for awhile, and also win the White House in '08. I don't know who the Dems have as a political genius to do this.

9. Sounds like Bush isn't the only one who needs to go for a ride with the men...
..in white coats.
Remember how Karl had "THE math" and how he was honestly shocked when we took control of both the House and Congress?

And the wistful remark IN PUBLIC about 'flipping 8000 votes and we would have won'?
Gosh, if only we'd cheated a little more, we'da had this one, too...
Blatantly admitting that yeah, stealing elections by 'fomenting' election fraud is part of his job. Your point?
:wow:
Karl may have more smarts than George, but that doesn't mean he won't or hasn't become just as delusional as Bush...and they're feeding into each other. :hide:

The most effective way of making us look bad would be for him to join our ranks.

12. Rove is as delusional as Bush and should not be feared nor acknowledged.
The man is full of air, including his mind. He lost. He lost big. And we're worried about his political rhetoric? Right now politics as usual is out the window. The American people have given up on Bush and they are worried as hell over his most recent rhetoric on the Iraq War. Bush cannot force Democrats into "difficult" situations if Americans are not listening to him. All they want is CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE. "Get us the f*** away from this psychopath as fast as you possibly can!"

Rove is irrelevant.
