A modern aspect of mass protest |
|
If we are to stop the Iraq invasion and the potential wars it could start (very very important), we need to protest at or beyond the levels seen in the Vietnam war era. These days, people don't have the time and the money to do so, and as such I propose having protests that plan ahead for duration. Plan for rotating the members of the group. Stagger attendance. Some camp in for the first two weeks, some come half-way through that and stay for two weeks, etc.
Since BushCo have the ability to simply outwait our reaction to any of their atrocities, we must plan to more effectively lengthen our resistance so that it does not fizzle as outrage diminishes over time. Sure, they could outwait any campground of protesters, but enough of us would make a difference.
We have to "vote" every day as we did on election day if we are to restore legal elections and support our representatives to make drastic changes.
Bush and friends eat caviar as we protest. That will not change; how to be effective in peaceful, mass protest?

1. I'm a bit ahead of the curve on this stuff, but it pays to prepare. |
