Bush betting on a long shot in Iraq
Donald Rumsfeld was, for all intents and purposes, fired as Secretary of Defense, yet at his gala going-away ceremony Vice President Dick Cheney called him “the finest Secretary of Defense this nation has ever had.”
Meanwhile, George W. Bush is looking to send 30,000 more troops to Iraq to stabilize the mess he and Rumsfeld created. He’s like a compulsive gambler dreaming of winning the jackpot by buying one last lottery ticket.
