Robin Hayes says we will win in Iraq by "spreading the message of Jesus Christ" there.
Robin Hayes has the solution to the Iraq war: have our soldiers convert all Muslims to Christianity.

Having won the election by only a hair’s width and almost getting himself kicked out of Congress seems to have had some profound psychological effects on poor Mr. Hayes. A speech that flip-floppin’ Robin gave last week at the Concord Rotary Club seems to prove he has finally gone off the deep end.

Our local weekly newspaper the “Concord Standard and Mount Pleasant Times” reported on Mr. Hayes speech in his hometown:

First there’s the usual talk of how we’re “winning” over there: “The war in Iraq has got to be won; it’s being won”
(A couple of months ago Hayes said that the rise in violence in Iraq was an indication that we’re winning.)

Then comes the real kicker: “Stability in Iraq ultimately depends on spreading the message of Jesus Christ, the message of peace on earth, good will towards men. Everything depends on everyone learning about the birth of the Savior.”

1. Phase three of Ann Coulter's infamous plan

6. Christians tried that
It was called the Crusades. There were many of them between 1095 and about 1300. In the end, the Christians lost.

Next?

12. North Carolina - He's my rep in the House. He BARELY won by
200-300 votes against Kissell, who is basically an unknown. Hayes has no call to claim a mandate to do anything.

8. Have they forgotten that
THE MESSAGE OF JESUS STARTED IN THE MIDDLE EAST....THEY'VE ALREADY HEARD AND APPRECIATED HIS MESSAGE AND ACCEPTED HIM AS A PROPHET...They just didn't see him as "The Messiah"

13. Talk about playing into the hands of terrorists
One of the tools they use to persuade people to take up arms is to point to people from the West like this and say "See, they want to destroy Islam and make you all convert!" (Interestingly enough, the flip side of what the conservative rwingers say about Islam). Meanwhile, cooler, saner heads in the Muslim world are dismissed because of trash like this coming from the West.

16. Iraq had a healthy christian population already
We've destroyed the country to the point christians have joined muslims in leaving.

The US has helped destroy christianity in iraq.
