Chris Matthews: Gore/Obama is "the strongest ticket"
http://goreobama08.blogspot.com/
MATTHEWS: For the Democrats, the strongest ticket would be Al Gore and Obama. I think that would be an awesome ticket.

1. Re:
Obama is too young. I'd love to see Gore run again.

3. Maybe.
But I really think Edwards/Obama has a better chance. To many moderates, Democratic and Republican alike, equate Big Al to the far, far left. Although this isn't true, it is the perception.

15. This is my early odds on favorite...
Edited on Sat Dec-23-06 10:15 AM by Virginia Dare
not necessarily personal favorite, but if I were betting in Vegas on a Dem ticket right now, that's who I'd be putting my money one.

5. I don't think we should let Repubs like Matthews pick our ticket
especially since job one should be to dislodge Smirk from the WH.

7. I agree 100% with you on that. we should be very skiptical of.....
republicans who say Hillary is a STRONG candidate to run against. they said the same thing about Kerry when all along they were plotting saying once the American people find out who the REAL Kerry is he will be unelectable.

17. I'm not a big fan of Matthews but he did come out against Lieberman
and in favor of Lamont. That's saying something.

6. At least that ticket has a shot.
Most of the tickets the corporate media supports on the Democratic side are about as exciting as boiled water or wouldn't win one single purple state.

9. Now THAT I could go for. Obama is too untested to be at the top.
Give him eight years as VP to Gore and he'll be seasoned. I'd love it if the Dems drafted Gore to run. It would be like setting the universe right again, after having lived through this hell of an alternate reality.

11. And after 8 years of being VP
He'd have a perfect shot for the presidency. Much better than 8 years of a Senate record (we've seen what happens to senator's voting records during campaigns).

13. The Repubs will throw slime at anyone's record. Al Gore was
attacked for Clinton's personal problems. Boy Scout Al (I mean that in the most positive way), a most-happily-married man, held accountable for another man's sex life. What a farce.

The Repubs think nothing of going after war heroes. I think no matter who we nominate, he or she will be slimed.

The truth doesn't matter to them any more than honor.

14. Agree - that's why I think it's stupid for us to try to disqualify our own candidates
because of some perceived "weakness" that Republicans might exploit. Republicans will go after ANYONE we nominate, and even try to use their strengths as a weapon - as evidenced by their distortion of Kerry's war record and Gore's intelligence and gravitas.

20. And the Media Talking Heads Speak,,,,
Doing NOTHING but pushing 2008 in their RATINGS WAR and the media hype 24/7 while we continue to spew 70 million tons of CO2 into our atmosphere EVERY DAY as oceans continue to warm and rise with villages in New Guinea almost going under now as well as others in India that already have. Yet some people for all of their socalled aversion to this kind of media hyping BS that does NOTHING to enlighten or inform, eat it up.

22. Then why does he keep calling Gore fat?
Tweety's words are essentially meaningless, because the next day he will say the opposite. And since he's already jumped on the "Gore=fat" meme, I wouldn't be surprised if he just relishes the prospect of endless fat jokes about Gore.
