GOP Crusader Robin Hayes (R-NC) Blames Bloggers for daring to QUOTE her!
GOP lawmaker blames bloggers for Jesus controversy
By: Steve on Saturday, December 23rd, 2006 at 8:50 AM - PST

On Thursday, we learned that Rep. Robin Hayes (R-N.C.) articulated a rather unique vision for resolving the crisis in the Middle East. According to an account in a local paper in Hayes' hometown, the lawmaker said:

"Stability in Iraq ultimately depends on spreading the message of Jesus Christ, the message of peace on earth, good will towards men. Everything depends on everyone learning about the birth of the Savior."

It sounded rather Coulter-esque, considering her opinion that the only effective way to respond to Middle Eastern terrorists is to "invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."

Of course, Hayes' comments aren't exactly helpful in winning over "hearts and minds" in the Middle East, so reporters started calling the lawmaker's office yesterday for an explanation.

Apparently, the controversy is our fault.

2. I Believe The 'Her' In The Article Refers To
Coulter - at least it was Our Ann who wrote "we should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity."

3. Kinda hard to see the "good will"
When someone's pointing a gun at you, or dropping bombs that you can't fight back against and can't get away from, it's kind of hard to see much "good will" being spread, doncha think Mr. Hayes?

4. Now, when did a little contradiction ever bother a fundie?
I see people like this every time I go back to NC. They say things that just make my jaw drop.

It's like their brains aren't wired for abstract thought or logic.

5. Unfortunately, it's not just in NC. You find those kind of people anywhere you find idiots stupid
enough to buy into the right wing mantra. As a North Carolinian in general, and a Hayes constituent in particular, it sickens me that this lying piece of human waste not only represents my congressional district, but my beloved state.

8. Hear Hear!
As a onetime, temporary resident of NC and a graduate of a fine NC college (aka, a damned Yankee), I would like to suggest we all sit down to all the chopped barbeque and hushpuppies we think we can eat and hash out a game plan to keep exposing this type of representative (a lying piece of human waste)! Not only will I get my first fill of such (food, not waste) since 1999, but it will do a lot for cross-MD-line relations! Go DU! Go HEELS!

6. I thought that's what Shock and Awe was all about. It kicked off the Crusade
to bring peace and goodwill throughout the ME. It's working swell honey. The Iraqis are just ungrateful and slow learners.

7. Has robin volunteered to take his bibles to the streets of Baghdad
and start the conversion? Surely the brave "christian" wants to be part of the solution. No doubt he should be able to draft an Army of Chrisitians to assist him.

9. Proof of their conviction
I would allow them to make 'flakjackets' out of their bibles, but they should otherwise just 'trust in the lord' while they pander their good books - no military escorts, no news cameras - just like the Iraqis do, trying to live in the hell hole we've help create.
