An email from John Edwards. Yay!
For the past two years, we've worked together to build
an America
that lives up to its promise -- one where we all share
in prosperity
at home and one that shows real moral leadership
around the world.

I'm proud of our successes fighting poverty,
supporting working
families, and standing up for what we believe.

Now, we have a big decision to make -- and I do mean
we.

I'm getting ready to take this effort to the next
level - to bring
Americans together in all fifty states to tackle the
big challenges
facing our country, from poverty and lack of health
care, to energy
and global warming.

But this is our effort, and we can only succeed if
we're all in it
together. So before I make a final decision, I need to
hear from you:
Are you ready?

If you're ready to take this to the next level, and
launch a renewed
national effort to change America, send me a note and
let me know:
JohnEdwards@readytochangeamerica.com

If you have friends or family who share this vision, I
want to hear
from them too. Please forward this on to anyone you
know who might
want to join this big new effort.

I believe we can run a totally new kind of endeavor --
one that puts
our ideals into action, and puts the hopes and dreams
of the American
people above the personal ambition and play-it-safe
strategy of
traditional politics.

I can't promise you where this will ultimately lead.
But I can
promise you this: if you're on board, we'll launch a
renewed
commitment to change our country from the bottom up.
We'll always
speak from the heart. And together, we'll reach out to
millions of
people to let them know it's still okay to dream big
dreams, and do
everything we can to make them real --because that's
what America is
all about.

So the only question is: Are you ready?

If you want to take this effort to next level, send me
an e-mail and
let me know:
JohnEdwards@readytochangeamerica.com

Stay tuned: I'll let you know what we decide early
next week.

Happy holidays, and may it be a bright new year for
all.

Your friend,

John

1. The cool thing about that mailer
is you can actually respond to John Edwards and tell him what you think.I did it earlier today and reviewed his opponents-all of whom fall in behind him at this point...his biggest obstacle in my eyes would be.....AL GORE!

2. I didn't get an e-mail from him. Hmph! :(
None the less, I used your link to drop him a note, and say I'd be very happy to see him in the '08 race. The more the merrier, at this point!

3. I sent mine when BB sent this message out... and mine JUST came across!
So I'll betcha if you check now, you'll have one too!

Here's the e-mail response that you'll likely get:

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for believing that we can start building the
America we believe in right now. And thank you even more for taking
the responsibility to do something about it.

You're going to hear from me again very soon.

Elizabeth and I wish you the happiest of holidays.

Sincerely,

John Edwards

To me.... this says it all: "You're going to hear from me again very soon."

5. Hmmm.....
Good question...

Guess we'll never know if anyone actually scanned through the comments sent in.. All I can tell, from what he wrote anyway, is that he plans on throwing his hat in the ring -- and SOON.

As Martha Stewart would say.. "that's a good thing"

Out of the candidates we "assume" are running, he's definitely in my top 3 ~~~ ~~

7. John has to
.....figure out where he went wrong on the IWR and all that before he gets a real consideration from me. Kerry got smart and Edwards better get smart before he gets any further. Believe it or not, Iraq is a big issue, ya know?

Last I heard he was all for the invasion. And its not like I haven't been reading about such things. So, if you have a link, I'll read it.

11. Well, I'll be
................snipped>

...Many mistakes have already been made for this to be easy. Yet we must take these steps to succeed. The American people, the Iraqi people and -- most important -- our troops who have died or been injured there, and those who are fighting there today, deserve nothing less.

America's leaders -- all of us -- need to accept the responsibility we each carry for how we got to this place. More than 2,000 Americans have lost their lives in this war, and more than 150,000 are fighting there today. They and their families deserve honesty from our country's leaders. And they also deserve a clear plan for a way out.

I didn't know that. See, DU scores again. Thanks, Dave.

The only troops that should stay in Iraq are those who are based at the edges of Iraq to keep Iran or Turkey from invading Iraq. All the rest should be peacekeepers, not soldiers.
