Count me in the Edwards camp
The trashing of this good man will come. No need to even deal with it right now I just want to say that he is a good man something that people will see and feel as they get to know him.

In the order of building to this decision let me end where this is all headed-YES he can win. The country is yearning for common sense and common decency right now and we want to smile again and feel good about ourselves again. He has ability and experience than is required right now and people will see that. Plus it is time that we got back to some good old fashioned populism in this party.

There I said it. I'll back him as far as he goes. Fully and exclusively.

Count me in John.

1. Hey me too!
:hi:

I'm working for him. His financial officer for the last campaign, Andrew Hurst, ran for Congress in my District. He didn't win, sadly. A finer candidate we haven't had in ages. I got to meet Edwards at a fundraiser for Andy, I was impressed that he came right up to the little people first to shake hands. (I was one of the little people in this beautiful downtown DC K St law firm). I've been holding it in, but I knew he would run and I would volunteer for him.

Glad you're with us too!

Oh, and cspan BLOWS, I got through but they didnt pick the line up.
Yet the insane rethugs can, seemingly, get through at will...bastards.

3. I like Edwards
and if my candidates don't throw their hats in (I'm fairly sure they will) I will happily volunteer for him. I think I'll be too busy in the Gore campaign but I have nothing bad to say about Edwards except that I wish he didn't end up with the misfortune of having played second fiddle to a guy who was way too quick to fold his hand. And really, that ain't nothing bad about the man himself.

4. Edwards is OK. His roots are middle class
but not plutocratic. He's got a grasp of what a lot of us have been facing over the last 38 years. He thinks logically, speaks well, and picks his fights very carefully, as his success as a tort lawyer proves.

Ordinarily I find southern Democrats far too conservative for my taste. Edwards may be a little different because he hasn't adopted the Foghorn Leghorn mode so many of them do as soon as they get to Congress. His ability to speak to people instead of at them will serve him very well in a campaign.

I will support any prochoice Democrat who gets the nod, even a DLC Democrat whose ideas have been discredited by the reality of wealth concentration. I will gladly support Edwards.

5. I've Been Waving The Flag For Him For Over A Year Now!
Too bad Ford had to kick the bucket right now, but we have a long way to go.... and I won't DO HILLARY! I have almost decided that I may sit it out if she's the nominee! And I can't believe I have even entertained the thought of not voting in an election.

I'm just that strong against her. She's been playing the game too much and she's changed even more! I don't like what I see from her AT ALL! I have shocked my Democratic family with this comment, but unless something serious changes about her.... well it's No to Hillary!

Besides, we have more than TWO families in this country. Let's see.... Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush, Bush and now ANOTHER Clinton??? NOT!!!!!

7. Why does someone always have to hijack every thread with a
"I hate Hillary!" every few days? She hasn't declared, why does everyone have to jump on the repug band wagon and knock her even in instances where it isn't necessary or even needed. This is a thread supporting John Edwards whom I view as a very viable candidate (thank goodness the Dems have a plethora of excellent possibilities) and not another chance to whine about Hillary.

I will support ANY Democratic candidate. Period. I will not play Nader and Perot politics with our country at this time. I will not contribute to dividing our party - that is what the repugs are counting on and I will not play that game for them. Sitting out an election? Unthinkable for this citizen.

Do I hope that Hillary is the candidate? Not necessarily but I won't rule out anyone because this country is too f*cked up not to get involved to elect a Democratic candidate to save the Republic.

10. I'm Not Going To Argue The Point... I'll Be Gracious Enough To
concede and withdraw my comments about Hillary. Sorry for fluffing feathers, it was uncalled for. I actually want more cohesion myself and intend to work toward that goal in the future.

6. I decided to go with Edwards this past summer
He came to speak to our county Democratic Party at a rally.

Since 2004, the man has never stopped moving, traveling the globe - let alone these United States.

He spoke of poverty and that the current Republicans are ignoring the problem.

While preaching to the choir, it hit home since Michigan is currently in a Depression.

"I'm all for Edwards" as my Dad says.

For more on Michigan's current economic Depression, see excerpt of article below.

Michigan's recent job loss compares to the Great Depression

A highly-regarded economic forecast to be released in Ann Arbor this morning compares Michigan's massive job loss in the past six years to the Great Depression and paints a bleak picture for the next two years.

Michigan lost 336,000 jobs in the past six years and it will lose another 33,000 in the next two years -- the longest stretch of employment loss in the state since the 1929 stock market crash plunged the nation into bleak times, say University of Michigan economists Joan Crary, George Fulton and Saul Hymans. This time the pain is focused solely in Michigan because of its reliance on the auto industry.

"Michigan is being battered by one of the most tenacious economic storms ever confronted by its citizenry," the economists write in their 28-page forecast. "At no time in its history, or at least as far back as the records take us, has the state endured such a drawn-out disturbance."

9. I'm impressed
He needs to keep talking the populist talk and not allow himself to be handled.

I was really impressed with him on Hardball in Chapel Hill. He will have all of my support once I know Al isn't running.

13. Faircloth tried in NC in 98. Edwards too clean.
The trial lawyer attacks were tough but Edwards was ready. Guess he learned to anticipate attacks when he was a lawyer. He won't wait if he is swift-boated.

20. No......they cannot. Seems ironic, and so it is.
The media loves John Edwards for whatever reason. The Irony that he co-sponsored the war resolution that spent billions on death instead of the poor will escape most of them.

Because you see, many are looking for Camelot redux, and in Edwards many "think" they have found it.

22. Count me in the ..
Clark/Obama/Gore/Edwards/Kerry/Hillary Camp ...

And my name is not even Clark-ie/Obam-ie/Gor-ie/Edward-ie/Kerr-ie/Hill-ie ... er ... 08 !

Frankly, I do not intend to get wrapped up in the internecine warfare in the cult worship surrounding individual candidates .... They ALL adhere, more or less, to those elements of philosophy which I adhere to ... Im not too fond of Hillary, but I will vote for her, if she is nominated ...

Gore wont be there .... but he would have my vote as well ...
