Isn't John Edwards just so dreamy? I think he sings better than Elvis. Did you know |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-28-06 05:06 PM by GreenTea
John Edwards sleeps in a bed?
John Edwards used to be the fifth Monkee (played the Oboe).
John Edwards once ate a whole Haberno pepper, (very tough guy...did I mention dreamy).

15. George McGovern voted for the Vietnam War before he realised the |
|
error of his ways and worked to get us out. You don't have to change your mind about Edwards - I am just saying that he may have learned from his mistake. He is now clearly advocating an immediate draw down of troop numbers and a complete exit within 8 months.

16. It seemed so absolutely obvious to me (me! a nobody rural pastor with |
|
no experience in geo-politics) that the Bushies were lying, that I can't figure how anyone bought the lies. And I'm not sure it's a good idea to elect a president with less common sense than me. Really-- a scary thought.

19. We need many, many more people like you who hold as their basic understanding |
|
of the world, what journalist I.F. Stone said so well to a group of young journalists. He said that all they needed to know was two words: "Governments lie."
Our judgments of people who participate in government must be, I think, tempered with other realizations. Such as: When someone, anyone, gets close to the people who later lie to them, they become less able to recognize when they are being lied to - the impact of experiencing others as "decent people" clouds the vision of those who participate in government. Also, in the case of the IWR, the bigger the lie, the less likely one is to suspect it is a lie.
Are you as good at detecting when Dems are lying?
Again - I am just asking questions - not going to bat for Edwards or any other candidate at this point...

5. Nothing Has Deterred My Support Of Him Yet!! |
|
I remain OH, So LOYAL!!! Said it many times before though, if Gore decides I will HAVE to go with Gore, mainly because he ALREADY won and deserves it. Plus he does have the experience and can get the job done! Then I would want him to have Edwards as Vice, but would Edwards do it again??? I don't know. Even I would have to think it over.
But it would be a GREAT set-up if Gore were to win again and Edwards would be right in line to become President AFTER that!
For now though, it's Go, Johnny, Go!

What is the point of this? So don't vote for Edwards because he is good-looking. That is maybe even stupider than voting for him because he is.

he didn't want to quit in Ohio recount but apparently his opinion didn't matter to Kerry. I like his position on most areas (I followed him before he accepted the VP spot). I have watched him and other dems ever since. He walks the walk and talks the talk. I am not going to just vote for any dem. We have a couple of years and I will be watching. But the people in congress until now, who sold out the american people will never win back my vote.

10. His looks are an asset to his candidacy in the age of TV, no doubt about it. |
|
I doubt that anyone could turn that into something that actually hurts him.
I'm not a Edwards supporter- but disregrad this fact at your own peril!!!
I for one like the fact that he announced in NOLA (classy as hell) and seems committed to poor folks- if that makes him Elvis, cool- I love Elvis.

12. His Looks Are A Plus... But I Think I'm Past That Point In My Life.... |
|
BUT, having said that.... there are a lot of younger people who will get behind him simply because he has that "certain something!"
For me, I have to respect him for going out right after the last (I can't call it an election) maybe the last Presidential Outing, and went right work to help others. Maybe it was a plan or ploy, but he did have to sweat through it and he has gained my support because of it.
Plus I really like his ease in front of the cameras now and his confidence seems to shine through.
Already, media hyping the fact that he's building a new home worth millions! Geez, how much money did Cheney make last year alone??? Give me a friggin' break you butt-holes!

Sorry - it's hard for me to think a multi-millionaire with three houses really cares all that much about Katrina victims.

Edited on Fri Dec-29-06 01:32 PM by Dr Fate
He could have announced from a church or a business association or a "news" show or some other trite BS- instead he got Katrina back on TV again.
I disagree with your characterization- the point of his announcing there is that he is promising to focus on these kinds of issues.
