for national health insurance....

It's a disgrace.........

2. At least a national health processing center....
Instead of having three or four thousand little fiefdoms controling patient access, we could at least standardize stuff for the industry....

6. If we were to eliminate the insurance company middlemen...
we could provide health coverage for all with the money we would save.

http://www.citizen.org/pressroom/release.cfm?ID=1623

And the assessment at the above site doesn't even include the substantial administrative costs of the Part D fiasco. This would be easy to do. Just put everyone on Medicare Part A & B.

But we couldn't have that. Gotta pursue that self-justifying ideology and privatize everything. Just so we create lots of wealthy insurance company CEOs to contribute to the GOP, that's all that matters. Then they can trickle on everyone else.

4. Can't you get on Medicaid since you're on SSI?
Stupid question maybe but thought it was worth asking anyway.

7. That's a shame
But if the relationship is there, the piece of paper won't make that much difference. I would hope you two would still be able to live together. I remember many years ago, a family was trying to get on welfare but couldn't unless the couple got divorced - and the father had to move out. I'll bet that was almost 50 years ago. That would make me about 8 at the time which seems in the neighborhood.

Peace to you and your wife.

9. That's a lot of money.
It's a large percentage of your take home money.

And, sadly, there are those out there who's medical costs are even higher.

Again, why we should have universal coverage.
