Off to see Carville tonight -- help with question
Tonight's the night -- I get to see James Carville speak at our university (unfortunately, his shrew wife will be there too). I know there will be a question-and-answer period and have jotted down a few, but would still appreciate some feedback. All this preparation and I doubt if my question will even get read! We live in a pretty conservative area and I'm willing to bet that Mary gets most of the "praise bush" questions and James will get the over-the-top kind to make us all look nuts. Oh well, it's worth a shot!

6. Exactly what popped into my mind
the media assassination of Dean.

Carville will hem and haw and go into the patronizing spiel about how Dean brought so much to the elections and energized the political discourse and we all have Dean to thank blablabla which is the consolation prize they offer up to absolve their own guilt.

I can hear him now.

18. Ask him about the Dean DLC smear
It was obvious to even the most casual observer that they (including Carville himself) did everything they could to take down Dean. I don't think they were afraid that he couldn't beat Bush. I think they were more afraid that he could.

5. Ask if Novak has gotten more nervous since July.
Does he smell like alcohol or cough syrup? Does he hesitate before saying the initials "CIA?" Does he flinch anytime words like "flame" or "blame" are uttered?

9. That's one of the ones I have
Was going to ask him how an investigative team could be put together so quickly to look into a half-second flash of a boob, yet this administration has continued to drag its feet when trying to find out who exposed an undercover CIA agent.

And yes, janx, I'm hoping to get a question in there on the lynching of Dean :-)

4. Ask him about picking nominee this early
I believe that he said that everyone should pull out but the front runner. Correct me if that is wrong.
I was surprised that he would take this view. Why would he, of all people, not want the votes of his fellow Democrats be heard in their primaries?

PS/ IMO Carville has sold out his values to stay in tune with his slime wife. I never trusted him after he married her.

11. Ask Mary if she was the one
who leaked to the WP that there were administration officials who spread the Valerie Plame stuff. That's the leak that really intrigues me - SOMEONE in the know was appalled enough about it to leak it to the press. And I'm a-bettin' on Mary. She'd already quit by the time it all came out, but I've always thought that a) she saw what was happening and got the hell out of that office or b) when Novak wrote it she knew EXACTLY where it came from. Either way I'm guessing she was the source.

I predicted ages ago that Matalin was the leaker-of-the-leak and the fact that she was subpoened make it even more likely.

13. I have a different spin
I would ask him if the candidates, Dean and Gep in particular over saturated Iowa and if that backfired on them. In other words can one spend TOO MUCH in one place or on a race?

Having lived in Iowa for 8 years before moving to VA, I know Iowans value "NICE" more than they do what you say. I think the in your face style may have hurt them both. But I also think the folks in Iowa got tired of the non stop ads for months on end. Would like to get Carville's opinion.

He and Begala are the main reasons. They did not have to do what they did to Howard Dean.

Bush does not just release his social security records to prove he did his gusrd time. If he attended drills the $$ earned would have been reported to social security.

17. Ask him:
Why the Democratic Party has not embraced the concept of single-payer universal health care.

Why the Democratic Party has abandoned the plight of manufacturing workers and their unions by supporting NAFTA and WTO? How does the Democratic Party support of NAFTA and WTO improve the lot of American union workers?

Will the Democratic Party propose a Constitutional amendment that guarantees gays and lesbians access to state certified marriage?

19. WHY doesnt the media mention the OSP ??? ..
WHY doesnt Carville mention it more ? ...

It is the primary author of the bogus information used by the Bush/GOP cronies as their pretext for going to war ...

It goes to the heart of what is wrong with this administration: It's intent to lie to and deceive it's own citizens, even in the gravest and most serious issues ...

The OSP lies at the very core of the problems we face as a nation ... It MUST be talked about, and placed on the table over and over again, if need be ...

21. What the hell was he doing working against Chavez in Venezuala?
Thats the only question worth asking the filthy stinking weasel.

"Here's what Marc Lifsher of the Wall Street Journal wrote on May 23, 2003:

Venezuela's embattled private sector is banking on the colorful U.S. political consultant James Carville to help oust leftist President Hugo Chavez. The hire may herald an effort by the anti-Chavistas to focus more on the issues than on personality.

According to several individuals with knowledge of the matter, a group of business executives contracted with Mr. Carville this year to craft a strategy that will unify a fractious and frustrated Chavez opposition and resonate with voters in a possible recall referendum."

23. And don't forget
to ask why the media were writing off Kerry a few months back, why they gave him no media attention at all and why they only focused on Dean. It's important...they were suggesting Kerry should drop out to save face at about the same time Graham dropped out.

25. Oh that can't be true. Was that about the time
Dean was whining about Mc Auliffe not protecting him from the other fellers ? And this was before he won one single delegate by primary or caucus. Kerry can take it without whining. He knows it comes with the territory.

replace Marquise Hill at Defensive End for LSU next season? He may answer that one. JC is a crazy LSU fan.
