Huckabee says he won't SCARE Democrats!!
Yeah, that's it. It's not that we disagree with Republicans, it's that we're fraidycats. And they're so big, bad and mean!

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says if he runs for president he won't be a Republican who will "scare the living daylights" out of independents and moderate Democrats.

"I think I would appeal to true conservatives for whom conservatism doesn't mean they're angry at everybody," Huckabee said in an interview with The Associated Press. "My brand of conservatism is not an angry, hostile brand. It's one that says `conservative' means we want to conserve the best of our culture, society, principles and values and pass them on."

(snip)

"I would be the kind of Republican who doesn't scare the living daylights out of people who are in the center or slightly to the left," he said.

3. If he gets any wind, fear this guy
He is the best speaker on the R side. Does anyone know if it is true that he was a radio preacher? The good news for Dems is that it will be hard to hear him over McCain, Rudy, Mitt.

4. He's actually the guy I'm worried most about.
He seems normal on the outside, but is a batshit crazy Fundie on the inside. (Unfortunately, the media usually prefers to concentrate on the outside of candidates.) Also, he has a media-ready story that a lot of Americans can identify with, having lost a ton of weight rather recently. Seems like a perfect topic of conversation when you're trying to avoid the issues.

6. Chafee didn't scare Dems either. Republican control ...
... of anything should scare anyone. The Republican party got us where we are now. A Democratic president is the only thing that can guarantee change for the better. If Huckabee wants people to know he doesn't have the rabies that some in the rest of his party have, he should change parties.
