Observations from the Feb 9th Caucus in London
I've just now returned from London where the caucus nominated 3 candidates Kerry, Dean, Edwards... It was the largest UK caucus ever held by democratsabroad, and clearly the expat dems are highly motivated on ABB.

There were 23 of us Kucinich supporters standing in the corner feeling bummed that we were not counted at all, and rather had to be dragged to other camps (mostly kerry) by the rules of the game.

A lady was present who claimed to be john kerry's cousin, and she read a letter to the 650+ attendees squeezed in that hotel by russel square. When it came time for Dennis Kucinich's letter, somebody read an obscure, very wierd letter, to the crowd, and they all laughed at Dennis' weird letter. To all his supporter's dismay, as the campaign was clearly not prepared for the rules of the caucus. It was unfortunate, this, and it sorta spoiled the evening for this DK supporter, not seeing him given a fair stand on the podium before the vote, and having the whole group laughing at the ridiculous letter. Some of the other DK supporters present, suggested a petition to remedy the injustice... likely it will be a lost cause, unless someone in the campiagn takes action to prevent a repeat.

By the end of the evening, i stood amongst a crowd of joyful kerry supporters, as a caucus kerry vote.

It strikes me that some better training before hand, could have made the london caucus a show for Clark and/or dennis, but we were poorly equipped, not knowing the rules of the game.

The good excellent news, however, is that the turnouts from all the international caucuses, have been higher than EVER before in history.... if this election is down to who can turn out the voters, it seems we're on the right path.

1. kucinich feedback kick
I can't believe that a kucinich supporter would want this sort of thing to happen again, even though less than happy.

Dennis got fucked in a caucus that abused its democratic priviledge in misprepresenting him to his voting public... and nobody gives a shit.... i realize its hidden in the middle of said rambling article... but geez, it SHOULD NEVER happen again! Hello!
