Thank you, Wes Clark and Michael Moore... |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 03:55 PM by jchild
Thank you Wes Clark for proudly touting your Michael Moore endorsement and for refusing to renounce it. Thank you for refusing to let the deserter-in-charge off the hook during Peter Jennings grilling of you during the Fox farcical debate. You took it on the chin--a right jab from conservatives who said you should chastise Moore and denounce his charges; and a left uppercut from liberals who accused you of having no balls because you refused to fall into Jennings'semantical trap. Your strategy was brilliant--only a few of us saw it then--and now the media are doing the job they should have been doing four years ago: investigating Bush's military career.
Thank you, Michael Moore, for the information-packed article on Bush's swiss-cheese history in the Texas Air National Guard. You are despised by haters on the right and ridiculed by purists on the left, but it takes major cajones to do the job you do. Thank you for your fortitude.
Because of you, Wes Clark and Michael Moore, the deserter-in-charge's military record (or lack thereof) is receiving major media scrutiny. Bush is on the defensive, grasping at ethereal straws to protect himself. Any good military strategist knows that the advantage lies with the offense--defensiveness shows weakness, insecurity.
Thank you, Wes and Michael, for helping to topple the pretender. Wes, even if you don't receive the nomination, this party appreciates that a man of your moral and professional standing put your reputation on the line to help our party and our nation recover from the actions of this hellish administration. We owe you a debt of gratitude.

took a few bullets for all of us by not condeming Moore during the debate...ever since that debate the media has ignored him and his numbers have fallen dramatically....it ruined him but it needed to be done by someone with guts...who better than a 4 star general!

I'm starting to think his question might have been strategic.

It was a very cunning ploy. Moore and my man Clark may have been the drink but Jennings was the straw. His question of Clark in the debate brought on the next big thing...Terry McAuliffe's wonderful jab on "This Week with Snuffie."
I love those cute little snowballs that roll!

Clark took a massive beating from the press and some fellow Democrats for not denouncing Moore's statements.
Edited: For spelling because I'm an idiot.

8. And don't forget to thank |

Peter Jennings. Yeah, we all thought he was being a jerk and he phrased the question in such a way as to cover his ass. But really, would this story have exploded without his question?

14. Yeah, it would have... |

That is the beauty of the strategy. Michael Moore has been the most prominent Bush critic who has worked the hardest to expose his record. His teaming up with the 4-Star Clark made it a certainty that it would be an issue.
Were it not for Clark and Moore's partnership, there would have been no question about Bush's service to ask Clark.
Clark knew Moore's charges against Bush, and he welcomed his endorsement--he celebrated it. Clark possessed the unimpeachable framework on which Moore could hang his accusations. The two together were a molotov cocktail aimed at Bush's career. All Jennings did was notice this--which I believe was the duo's plan all along.
Right now, MSNBC is discussing their "top story": Bush's "questionable" military service. None of this was a mainstream issue until Clark and Moore united--it is obvious that this was their objective, and it indeed has been achieved. Bush is all over the news today.
And don't forget that Clark continues to nail Bush for "prancing around the deck in a flight suit." It's coming together--sad that the casualty will be Clark's candidacy, though.

Just wish the voters weren't dropping the ball. Whoever eventually wins the nomination will owe his viability, in part, the Michael Moore and Wesley Clark for this issue. Also Faux News and Peter Jennings

10. Clark took one for the team |
|
And the team said, "You know what, you're not really a member of this team." (As in, "Wes Clark is a Republican.")
Maybe the Boys and Girls Club, also known as the Democratic Party, will send him a thank-you note one day.
NAH.
Anyway, Wes did the right thing, as he always does. Which is why we (of the Clark avatar crowd) love him.

sooner or later dems are going to figure out that there some REAL issues that we need to be concerning ourselves with.

Just because you are so brilliant as to be light years ahead of the mainstream media does not mean that *all* Americans are.
Only the cap of the iceberg that is this issue has surfaced.
