1. She's doing a great job |
|
speaking, that is. I'm more impressed than I thought I would be. As for her singing, I think she herself has joked that that's not one of her strong points. :-)

5. Her moderate message is what will win. |
|
My own views are more liberal, but I do think she'll leave the country better than she found it. And she'll push the Democratic platform forward.
It looks like she's connecting with the audience, working her favorite topics, like universal health care.

I am finding that just as the nastiness of some of JK's supporters here turned me off JK, the vile recriminations against HRC are actually causing me to move into her court. Funny how that works. :)

3. I can carry a tune but it still sounds pretty bad. You won't hear me |

knocking anybody else's singing ability.
By the way, I thought Dennis Kucinich did a pretty decent job with "Sixteen Tons" the other day.
Didn't sound bad at all.

I think I've been brainwashed into believing Hillary is some kind of monster, but she's really connecting with this crowd, knows her facts -- which is more than the chimp can stutter ... er, I mean say -- and is, quite literally, having a conversation. She's not my first choice for President, but I wouldn't be unhappy with her either.

7. MSNBC has repeated her off-key singing THREE TIMES NOW. |
|
Great. They're going to try to make a Dean Scream out of this. They just brought on a Republican strategist who said, "McCain and Guiliani sing beautifully!"

8. MSNBC and CNN need to receive letters of disgust from us. They're |
|
all afraid of the Fairness Doctrine coming up, this is a damn good reason why. Abrams at MSNBC must be a Repug, I really don't know. After the Cheney/Blitzer debacle the other day, wouldn't you think CNN would become a little more middle-ground at least... Time for some letters to the media...

11. Cut Hillary Some Slack On This, Howzabout? |
|
It's not her fault that this country is burdened with the worst national anthem on the planet---based on a clunky old English drinking tune, chock full of question marks, extending over a ludicrously wide musical range, based on one obscure incident from one obscure war, for Crissakes. How many really notable versions of "The Star Spangled Banner" have you heard over the years? Ever wonder why?
I'm sure all you resident Hillary Bashers can find something else to dwell on besides this.....

One this was not a Hillary Clinton bashing thread and two there are some wonderful versions of the Banner to be heard. I very much remember a wonderful acapella version I heard at an Indians game when I was in high school. The Sopranos sang the words, on melody, as the rest of the group hummed various instrumental parts. It was breathtaking.

15. I missed her today, but I saw her on Olberman two nights. I was |

really liking her better than I thought I did.
Now, if she had decided not to sing because she has a bad voice, everybody would have complained about that!

18. Yeah, that's exactly right... |
|
if she didn't sing at all, it would have been even worse for her. (In the future, mouthing the words might be best.)
It was in a horrendous key for a woman. For a short time, she was in the right key, just out of tune...but that key was nasty. I'd like to hear some of those criticizing her at MSNBC try it in that key...or any key, for that matter.

16. She knew the words and sang it with gusto! |
|
At least she wasn't humming parts of it because she didn't know the words! And the look on her face while she was singing it, she was totally oblivious to the fact her mike was live. However, what a great opportunity for her to reveal her human side and connect with the 90% of us who would sound just as bad.

20. I thought it was a PR stunt to make her look human. |

Especially after the news media picked up on it big time and started analyzing it and talking about it being on SNL. come on, she sang the national anthem- big deal.
