How is it that Steven Colbert can identify the Tenn Center for Policy
Legitimated the AP can not...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17382210/?GT1=9033

The group is a front for the GOP so they can collect tax free dollars and pay their underlings to do political hatchet jobs..

That is basically all these "Think" tanks are anyway....

Large donors set up shakey foundations that allow tax deductible contributions to be made....

The City Paper of Nashville ran this article that Colbert was able to find...

http://www.nashvillecitypaper.com/index.cfm?section_id=9&screen=news&news_id=54861

The TCPR is a think-tank based in Nashville focused on issues of government accountability, smaller government and lower taxes. The TCPR was recently in the news for being denied state budget figures it requested from the Tennessee Department of Revenue. Revenue department employees in state emails claimed the TCPR was not a “legitimate” group.

So the AP once again does a job on Al Gore and legitimizes yet another pisssante group of ass whipes...

Tell me again how liberal the media is...

2. I saw a teaser on this on the local news this morning
I never saw the actual report but it made it to the local morning news this morning (NBC).

You can't tell me that this happens -this quickly- by accident.

6. Oh yes, very liberal! Right.......
This group claim to not believe in golbal warming....

And yet they are holding his high energy bills against him.....

Trying to have their cake and eat it too......

Also, they lied about where they got their data......

Bunch of hypocrites....

The whole story makes me sick.

7. Because "AP" now stands for "American Pravda"
Edited on Wed Feb-28-07 04:30 PM by KansDem
Not always the case. There was a time you could trust the AP to report factually and accurately. But not any more...

on edit: I'm still reeling from when the AP identified Mark Foley as a "Democrat"

9. KO really called 'em out.
Answer to your question: The "liberal media" consists of The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Countdown with Keith Olbermann, who are the only ones that bother to do their homework on stories.

In fact, I heard Ed Schultz actually interviewed the pissant on his show. Yikes.

12. Not even a legitimate group per Dept. of Revenue...
Dept. of Revenue says conservative think tank ‘not a legitimate group’

"The state’s Department of Revenue is refusing to respond to inquiries from a conservative watchdog organization over a controversial tax, labeling them “not a legitimate group.”

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research (TCPR), who bills themselves as an “independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research and educational institute,” made the inquiries to different employees of the Department of Revenue in early January regarding the unauthorized substances tax’s budget.

A City Paper public records request revealed inner-department e-mails about the decision not to respond to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research or its executive director, Drew Johnson.

The conservative watchdog group has been very critical of the unauthorized substances tax, or the “crack tax,” which requires drug dealers to buy stamps from the state showing that they have paid taxes on the illicit drugs..."
