Governor Dean calls Bush out on his Walter Reed photo-op.
Dean: President Bush Continues To Fail Our Veterans

“It’s good to see the President finally getting out of the White House, but he still fails to realize that our brave troops and veterans require real leadership that addresses the needs of our wounded men and women in uniform, not photo ops, constant budget cuts and hollow promises. The way President Bush and his Administration have failed our wounded and veterans is an appalling disgrace. While the commander-in-chief has forgotten his duty to honor the sacrifices of our brave men and women in uniform when they return home, Democrats are making sure that those sacrifices are not forgotten and that our nation provides the resources they need on the battlefield and the care they deserve when they return home.”

The press release goes on to detail "The Bush Administration’s Record Of Failure On Care For Our Veterans."

4. Fixing by photo op
Ask the people of New Orleans how useful it was to have the president come and stand in their devastated city and promise, promise, promise that he would make it all better.

6. Sorry, why do we keep calling Howard Dean "Governor"?
He used to be a Governor, but he's not a Governor now.

10. The same reason former Senators are always Senators and former Judges are Judges.

And former Presidents are always referred to as President <insert name here>.

16. What about when the person in question has been both
a Senator and a Governor? I'd assume you'd refer to the higher office held? (Of course, the person I'm thinking of is George Allen, so "Asshole" seems to work just fine in that case...)

13. I call him CHAIRMAN Dean and do so PROUDLY. He works his ass off for Dem party
and against Bush and the GOP.

When Terry McAuliffe was chair, he only concentrated on DC centric issues and ignored election issues all over the country in 2002 and 2004 while preparing his own team for a Hillary 2008 run.

11. Bush at Walter Reed
It is a photo op, no question. However, he is consistent at being any where from 4 days to 3 weeks late at doing anything substantive. Note: New Orleans and FEMA with his Brownie screw-up. Or his evening photo op to explain that he had everything under control, when he didn't. A couple of weeks ago he was back in hurricane Katrina territory apologizing for lack of progress on rebuilding the infrastructure of those hardest hit. All this while attention, when one day before children in a school were killed and land destroyed in toranadoes in Georgia and Florida. He seems to continue to be a day late and a dollar short on his Ops. Let us not forget his famous jet flight onto the carrier to announce that the war in Iraq was over. What a goofball for a President. He truly is the worst president of all times and we still have another year and half to go. Brace yourselves folks!

12. It's way beyond an "appalling disgrace"!
Good for Dean trying to make the photo opportunist(he's not a president that's for sure) accountable for his sending our troops to die and the ones who don't ..he throws them on the streets of America.

Do any of the dlcers ever comment on bush's blatant disregard for our Veterans or do they think everything bush does is good enough to enable?
