For the election held in 2008, how long will it be before we know who the Democratic ticket is for Pres and VP? I should know this, but I'm having a slow brain day.

2. It depends on how the primaries go--if someone takes them all, (or most) then we have |

a presidential candidate before the convention, and that individual can, if desired, choose a running mate ahead of the convention.
But hey, it could happen--it's not likely, but it COULD happen--that no one candidate wins sufficient primaries to take the prize, and then it's horse-trading time!

If the Prez nominee is in doubt, no attempt to select a VP nominee will be attempted until the Dem National Convention in Denver.
