We need a "stealth" candidate for 2008
--- In many respects, George Bush was a "stealth" candidate in 2000. He knew perfectly well that his top priority was to invent an excuse to attack Iraq and steal their oil,... but he never mentioned it in his campaign, of course. It would have cost him the election.

--- Those of us on DU can afford to be fairly straighforward about the "wishes" we have for members of the Bush administration,.. ranging from impeachment to imprisonment and worse. (Confiscation of assets is one of my personal favorites) At any rate, we can vent these feelings,.. but unfortunately, none of our candidates could risk freaking out the American public with talk of serious retribution. They might not get elected, either.

--- But it would certainly be nice to think that whichever democrat is being sworn in January, 2009,.. would, on their first day in office, "surprise" us by having the whole fascist lot of them arrested. Detained without counsel would be fine by me. Frog-marched,... treated as the criminals they are,... no country-club jail cells,.. Hell,... send 'em to Gitmo,...

--- No,... none of them can talk about it,... but it would sure be nice to think that one of them (or any of them) had been planning it all along. It's the only way it could happen,... and it's the only way that America will be healed.

3. Since bush and his Nazi henchmen are arresting people with cause
damn, that's a good idea. Just pick em up, put em in jail, and don't tell anybody where they are. Remember they won't be able to call a lawyer or talk to anybody.

8. That's what I meant,....
--- ...for the "stealth" characteristic to turn up in any one of them,... I did not mean an entirely new candidate - God, we have enough of them,.

7. I take exception with your portrayal of Chimpy as
a "stealth" candidate. We saw him coming. We just didn't believe America would be so insanely stupid as to ALMOST vote him into office.

10. Yeah, I couldn't believe it, either
--- But those goddamned tax rebates got him a lot of votes. Besides, the original post was just a vehicle for some wishful thinking. Not trying to prove anything, here.
