How safe is Kucinich's seat in the House? |
|
Sorry, stupid question, but does Dennis have to worry about a campaign to retain his House of Representatives seat? Does he plan on running for re-election?
Curious...

2. It's safe; the Republicans can't fund a candidate. |
|
Hisd last election he outspent his opponent approximately 100:1.

4. The GOP *won't* fund a challenge is more correct. |
|
Because DK's reelection numbers have steadily risen from 50+ in '96 to 74% in '02.
I was just reading that one GOPer was going to challenge him and decided not to bother after checking around. There is a 29-y.o. bighead who reckons to try on the grounds that DK's not taking care of his district because of the campaign, but the GOP aren't apparently supporting him. (The guy's biggest claim to fame is that he was a grunt in Afghanistan during the invasion) The few grumbles about DK are that he's cut his home visits down to 'only' one a month rather than every weekend. It's quite hard to claim someone isn't taking care of business when he's made every vote (except one where he got sandbagged by the GOP).

6. Super-safe, but his talents would be better utilized |
|
as President, rather than Speaker of the House.
