The problem with all of this stuff coming out about GOP corruption |
|
The Pumps in NO, the private contractor abuse in Iraq, the sleazy DC Madam stuff, to name just a few in the news currently....
All of this hurts those in the profession of governing...
People become more and more cynical about the process and then give up on even voting...
And when fewer people turn out to vote, the process become a race to see which party can get build the strongest, most loyal political base...
For the GOP, this has resulted in the faith based bullshit, a growing community of exploited true believers, and Big Business, which prospers in a good business climate, essentially an anything goes approach to running a business championed by the free marketeers in the GOP....
For the Dem's, this has typically been Big labor and minorities, a shrinking population in the former and an easily, as proved by the last election, disenfranchised population in the latter...
It sure doesn't help that the GOP doesn't even seem to worry about the blatant corruption...
It's obvious they feel they can get away with anything as long as they continue to play to the true believers...
This is how the pollsters look at this shit...
This is how the "consultants" construct a message...
Just remember, when people you know outside of your circle of politically active acquaintances comment that "all politicians are corrupt", it's the democrats who loose, not the republicans...

4. No. I'm just saying that it hurts the democratic cause since a whole |
|
mess of corruption sours the process for those of us who look to govenrment as a source of doing good for the most people...
Just a way of looking realistically at the process and looking at the realities when deciding how to present a good message...

2. I hear what you're saying....... |
|
And I get your points...
But, I think you're being a tad too cynical here...
I think that folks do see the Repub corruption, and act to take it down.
Remember last fall? We took back the Congress, not by huge margins, but still...
We did take it back.
It seems to me that the American people are waking up to all this corruption...
And they are turning away from the Republicans...

3. That's why we need to point out the party affiliation of each of these criminals... |

The vast majority are Rape-Publicans. It truly is a "GOP Culture of Corruption" in DC.
But by no means should we ignore the handful of corrupt Dems. Not only because it'd be wrong to do, but also because the comparison puts their misdemeanors in stark contrast to the criminal enterprises of the Party of Nixon.
We need to point out that people shouldn't judge the good, honorable people in government by the actions of one corrupt party.

Again, it's the right thing to do, as well as a matter of survival.
