Lieberman: 'No-party' fastest growing political movement
Warning the two major parties to "watch out" for a third-party presidential candidate to storm into the 2008 presidential race, Sen. Joe Lieberman said Monday that independent voters were the most explosive force in American politics.

"The fastest-growing political party in America today is no party," Lieberman, I-Conn., told a panel discussion sponsored by the American Enterprise Institute.

The discussion, where Lieberman appeared alongside House Minority Leader John Boehner, stressed the importance of civility in what is becoming an increasing hostile partisan environment within the Capitol.

"People are registering as Independents because they're fed up with -- they don't see them in the two major parties and they're sick of the fury, the partisanship and instability," Lieberman said. "And I think if the two major parties don't hear this going into '08, there is a real chance of an Independent third-party candidacy. And watch out, if that happens."

A staffer in Lieberman's Senate office said Lieberman has no interest in entering the race himself.

1. Maybe Joe's doing a little thinking outloud. Maybe he sees himself
as that "independent" candidate.

It's certainly been his pattern for the last half decade or so.

20. Lieberman is going to support Michael Bloomberg's independent bid
He owes Bloomberg for his past support against Lamont.

for a progressive warmonger.

7. To be specific, people are fed up with Republican . . .
fury, partisanship, and instability (not to mention incompetence, greed, mendacity, and sleaze).

Dems are not angels, but clearly the tide is running against 'Licans, and Dems in Congress get at least a "B" for their actions so far.

Joe is whistling past the graveyard (of his political future).

8. Joe, you are a true Bushevik!
Busheviks blame the other side for things which they do shamelessly (election fraud, partisanship, liberal media and so on). But you really have to take the cake. I mean who else could get away with saying there is too much partisanship in Washington while being one of the most partisan of the bunch? Sure, you duped a bunch of idiot Connecticut Democrats into thinking that you have their best interests ar heart. But the real "piece de resistance" is when you hide behind you presumabe Democratic bonafides to side with the Republicans on every important issue where your voice uplifts and supports a republican agenda at the expense of our country. Sure, you voted with Democrats, true Democrats, on bills that would have passed with or without your treacherous vote (how else would you fool those Democratic imbeciles in Connecticut?)But when the Americans needs someone to consider their country before partisanship, Joe you are the last F&cking person we should turn to for your empty rhetoric. (DAMN THOSE DUMB CONNECTICUT DEMOCRATIC VOTERS WHO PUT THIS JERK BACK IN OUR FACES!)

11. This man was granted one of the highest honors his party had to offer
and he has now turned his back on us.

Why can't he see that he owes more to the Democratic party than most?

I voted for him in 2000. He betrayed me then, and he is betraying me more now.

But I feel that as one who supported, donated to his campaign, worked to get him elected - he still owes something to me.
