Clinton and Obama agree to participate in NH debate

Hillary: I'll be at the Saint Anselm debate

U.S. Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton today accepted invitations to participate in the June 3 Democratic debate sponsored by the New Hampshire Union Leader, WMUR and CNN.

That event at Saint Anselm College will be followed two nights later by a GOP forum. Every major candidate has agreed to take part. Both debates will be in the college's ice arena.

"The WMUR/Union Leader debate is an important part of the New Hampshire primary tradition, and Senator Clinton is excited to participate," Clinton spokesperson Mo Elleithee said in a press release early this afternoon. "She looks forward to this opportunity to continue her conversation with Granite Staters and demonstrate why she is the candidate most ready to lead and deliver the change we need.

About 90 minutes later, the Obama campaign agreed to join the debate.
