Ken Blackwell on Hardball/Letter to MSNBC
Although Hardball has been a constant irritant, I sometimes turn on the show to get a feel for the perspectives that the talking heads are putting out on the public airwaves. Considering it is now common knowledge that Bush cannot do anything right, I felt it was safe to hear what spins are being put on his incompetence and how bold his detractors might now be in their unflattering statements.

However, the show had the temerity of inviting Ken Blackwell on to discuss the Republican primary debates. Although my letter to them is probably too little, too late, I was compelled to let the powers that be know that we are not all stupid Americans with our heads in the sand.

I am sure there will be those out in DailyKosland, and elsewhere, who will believe that I am a tinfoil hat wearer and that there is no proof of election fraud. To you, I can only say this: If you are not going to be part of the solution, get out of the way because this misconduct does not need your acknowledgment in order to exist.

To Whom It May Concern:

I must take issue with the invitation of Ken Blackwell to Hardball on May 1st. Don’t misunderstand me, I would think that having Republican, conservative perspectives is something that is not only needed, but desired by any and all of your viewers. However, Mr. Blackwell has a significant stain on his record. For anyone who has been paying attention, it is obvious --may I repeat, obvious -- that this man facilitated the disenfranchisement of Democratic voters in Ohio during the 2004 election.

Therefore, to have his smirking face on Hardball as he discussed the Republican primary debate was too much for me to even remain on your station. To think that the man who ensured that there were not enough voting machines for Democratic districts, disqualified eligible Democratic voters by purging them from the voter rolls and prevented Democrats from having a recount in crucial districts was going to give his smug assessment of the Republican primary makes my blood boil.

But I feel silly relaying these facts to you. As a news organization, you must already know these aforementioned issues, don’t you? Please tell me that I am not the one advising you of this travesty two years later. Yet, if you were aware of these actions and still invited him on the show, it must only be to insult those of us whose votes were stolen. But to think that a news station that I respect would be so callous makes no sense to me. So, the other option is that you are ignorant of or indifferent to his past actions. Which is worse: callousness, ignorance or indifference? None of these choices place you in a flattering light.

On a brighter note, I changed the channel to Glenn Beck on Headline News who had invited Senator Gravel on for an interview. I was impressed with Glenn’s restraint and respect. I guess that the next time you place a criminal on your show who has not only taken away Democrats’ right to vote, but in effect usurped all of our rights to vote, I can fall back on Glenn Beck. Who’d a thunk?

Sincerely,

Yes, I happened upon Senator Gravel speaking to Glenn Beck and although they disagreed on the nuts and bolts, they did concur that the equivocating on either side is ridiculous. We know that the Repugs equivocate because they are on the losing side, while the Dems equivocate because their chicken shit (or so it seems)

2. I sent a note to MSNBC about that as well.
I told them it was a disgrace to have such a person on their network, appearing not in the capacity of discussing the issues he was involved in, but as a credible guest on another subject.

I mentioned that MSNBC's credibility as a news organization was on the line with me over this, and that if it weren't for Keith Olbermann, I would really have no reason to watch their network at all.
