Edwards Ads Take Aim At Veto

Former senator John Edwards (D-N.C.) is launching the first television ads for his presidential campaign to coincide with President Bush's veto of the Iraq funding bill.

The ad, which will run in the D.C. media market, is aimed at sending a message to Congress as it considers the next steps on the war. In the ad, nine people are featured protesting the Bush administration's handling of the war in Iraq and asking Congress to stand up to the commander in in chief.
Here are a few of the statements:

"President Bush isn't listening to us," says one.

Another advises: "Don't back down to President Bush."

"Send him the same bill again and again," a third says.

John Edwards said this before the California Democratic Party on Sunday:

"I was wrong to vote for this war. I should never have voted for this war," he said to thunderous applause. "I want you to know that I am speaking out with every fiber of my being to get America out of Iraq. We need to be leaving Iraq and we ought to start today, not two months from now, not three months from now."

are still hard at "attacking" Edwards with all the ANIMUS they can muster!!

I'm going to say it again, I will try NOT to reply to ANY of them... but sometimes is so VERY difficult because I can't understand WHY we have to attack him almost EVERY SINGLE DAY!!

IMO, I don't think ANY vote YES or NO regarding the WAR would have stopped BFEE! I AM beginning to wonder about some who think he's not better than "Satan" himself!!

We have a great field of candidates. Usually I choose one and volunteer, but this time I'm working on voter turn-out (both old and new voters), hoping that the election won't be sooooo close!

I make the same mistake "responding" to inappropriate threads that go beyond "constructive criticizing". It's frustrating, and most important, issues don't get discussed.
