Let's Adopt George Tenant
I think the Democrats who call George Tenant a traitor (and
other unkind things) are missing a rare opportunity. Sure
he's a son of a bitch -- but why not make him "our son of
a bitch". The guy is sick to death of George W. Bush.
And what is more he is in position to help to cast out Bush
and all of his henchmen in the next election. Or before. But
we can't use him unless we accept him.

I say that we should adopt the guy as our own.

You recall in the 1940s how the Right Wing grabbed turncoat
Whittaker Chambers and made him their poster boy ? They took
that dog and pony show on the road and it was the beginning of
what we now call the Conservative movement. That is what the
Left should do with Tenant, if they have any political savvy
all.

Forgive the poor man and let's make him one of us. Hell,
get him a job in a powerful think tank and encourage him tell
all he knows about the present Congressmen and Senators. With
his help, we could grab many seats next year.

Let us all display a little Christian redemption and show the
guy how much we want to forgive him. We could get Al Franken
to take him on the road like Bill Buckley did Chambers.
Encourage him enough and we may could have the first double
Impeachment in history.

1. I don't know if I like anyone
who can look the camera in the eye and say, "It's not torture. It's enhanced interrogation techniques."

What of him can be believed?

3. What I heard on 60 Minutes was someone who is still
a company man, excusing Stupid and trying to say cooking the intelligence was a mistake anybody could have made. He came across smug and dismissive, acting more as an apologist for his former bosses than as someone indicting them for massive fraud in lying us into a disastrous war.

Let somebody else adopt him, thanks.

4. I thought George Tenet was a Clinton appointee as CIA Director
...so he already turned on democrats and on the people. Do we now want to take such a person back?

6. Nope. He can't be trusted. He'd be like McCain with Kerry.
Let you get your hopes up, then stab you in the back. I gave Tenet the benefit of the doubt. But it is settled. He's a weasel through and through.

7. Weasel, yes but
I like the old proverb that goes --- "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". On that score I doubt there is anyone in this country who hates Bush -- and rightfully so -- any more than Tenant does.

8. I like this
This is wise. Tenet's way past being a threat to anyone unless we're dumb enough to offer him such a position again. But he's been thrown to the wolves by the neocons along with the CIA and MI6. There's nothing to be gained by having him for lunch, so why not let him run with the pack under strict supervision?

he knows plenty of dirt and there's a deluge of beans to be spilled. And we know what he is, he's just an errand-boy for whoever's in charge: he's not an architect or a Decider: he's small-fry, but with useful insider knowledge. We don't have to forgive him, just to concentrate on bringing the real culprits to account.
