Does anyone know who the 6 Dems in the House are |
|
who voted with the "pukes" on the veto over ride bill? Also the coward who only voted Present? What a "ratty" thing to do when we needed every vote we could get!! At least one or two "pukes" came over from the dark side. How can I find out, since these were recorded votes??? I JUST WANT TO KNOW !! Thanks!

7. Mostly southern Dems. Gene Taylor is from the Gulf Coast in Mississippi |
|
The area hardest hit by Katrina. His district is about six counties, and comprises a large Air Force base, a smaller SeaBee base, a National Guard base, several armories, a shipbuilding yard which is a heavy military contractor, and a number of smaller research and engineering companies tied to the military. There was also a VA hospital and retirement home, but it was destroyed by Katrina.
Needless to say, many of his constituents demand that he vote for military funding bills. It's Trent Lott's old House district, so a Democrat in that district treads carefully.
I don't know on the others, but I suspect they have similar stories, or that they are like Kucinich, and are opposed to voting for any bill that funds the occupation in any form.

8. There was no chance of an override. It was a show vote, just to make constituents happy. |
|
Now they can get back down to business, hopefully passing the same basic bill again and forcing Bush to veto it again.
