MoveOn Finally Polls on Impeachment!
For years now, MoveOn.org has declined to call for impeachment, saying that they didn't think their members wanted it. Then again, they never asked. Well, as part of the growing momentum for impeachment, MoveOn has finally stepped up to the plate and is asking the American people "Do you think Congress should impeach President Bush?"

Dave Lindorff writes:

In the latest indication that Democratic leaders are rethinking their position on impeachment of the president, or at least testing the waters, MoveOn, an organization that is closely allied to the DNC, is conducting a poll of members to measure the sentiment for impeachment. To register your opinion, go without delay to:

http://pol.moveon.org/bushsurvey/a.html?id=10229-4599041-uA6iZW&t=1

It's quick and easy and will let MoveOn (and the Democratic Party leadership) know that we want this president truly held accountable for his high crimes, not just harassed by congressional hearings.

Given MoveOn's close relationship with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, this poll seems to be yet another indication that the Democratic leadership is moving on the impeachment issue. Over the past week, we've seen the California Democratic party go on record favoring impeachment, Rep. John Murtha saying on CBS and NPR that impeachment is "on the table," and two members of Congress, including Rep. Janice Schakowsky, a member of the House Democratic leadership, signing on as co-sponsors of Rep. Dennis Kucinich's bill to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney.

Let's keep this process moving!

Vote to impeach!

Frankly, I do not understand the reticence to impeach Bush and Cheney. In the history of the United States there is no president, no Administration that has so blatantly broken US Law, violated their oath to the US Constitution, disregarded international law and while destroying the good reputation of the United States around the world, not to mention, increasing terrorism around the globe. Impeachment of Bush and Cheney is LONG OVERDUE!

6. So does Zogby. I just this morning got their new survey.
Surprise! No idiot questions about my eating or driving habits, for a change! They actually went straight to something really relevant. Questions included whether I was proud or ashamed of having bush as president and whether I liked the stupid, greedy, deceitful schmuck. Unfortunately, for that one, no available check-off for HELL NO!!! Nor did the IMPEACHMENT question have a HELL YES!!! That would have been more reflective of my opinion, but I took what I could get.

I think we've done a very marvelous thing with all our activism on this issue - well, us and everyone else around the country in growing numbers - who are pushing for IMPEACHMENT. It is not only no longer a taboo question, it's discussed openly. It's been brought up in Congress, FINALLY, and it's being formally polled in surveys.

7. Great! My reasons:
1) Lying about the reasons for going to war with Iraq

2) Warrentless wiretapping in violation of the 4th amendment & FISA laws

3) Sanctioning and engaging in torture in vioation of the Geneva Conventions, a ratified treaty that is the law of the land per the Constitution.

4) Gross negligence (at best) and criminal culpability & conspiracy (at worst) in the disclosure of Valerie Plame Wilson's identity as an undercover CIA agent in the WMD counterproliferation devision, and by extension, her cover company Brewster Jennings & Associates. This disclosure has been highly detrimental to the CIA's counterproliferation network, and thus directly endangers the United States. If during the investigation (if any) it can be shown that Bush, Cheney, or other administration officials knew about Ms. Plame's role in the CPD, and that public disclosure of her identity would materially aid those enemies of the United States engaged in WMD trafficking, then treason charges should be levied against these officials.
