The missing military casualty figures for Iraq? |
|
This has been bugging me for awhile and maybe someone can help me understand:
Our military ONLY counts soldiers that die "in theater" and that number is 3358 If a solider is transported to a hospital and dies in route or at the hospital or later he is NEVER counted anywhere? If a solider dies in an accident or commits suicide he is NEVER counted anywhere?
The amount of injured soldiers is approx 50k. Does this figure only include the soldiers who do not return to battle?
We hire firms like Blackwater to fight. Are their figures included in our casualties? How many of them have died? How many injured?
We train, equip, and command the Iraqi forces yet we do not include them as our casualties? How many dead? How many injured?
Our coalition (haha) forces are also not included in our figures. How many dead? How many injured?
Shouldn't all of the above listed be included when reporting the true military casualty figures? It is the same war. It seems so sad and disrespectful to the dead to leave them out.
Any information/corrections would be appreciated.

Although I wish there was some sort of overall tally of the injured and dead. Maybe I'll take the time to try and add it up.
