Serious question about evolution and the three idiots who said they don't think its real .....
Tancredo, Huckabee and Brownback ..... when asked if they believe in evolution, said they do not.

Snarkiness aside, do you honestly think these guys think that or were they doing what I think they were doing ..... pandering to the 'base'?

Surely NO one who is as presumably educated and worldly really thinks we were all poured out of a tube by some guy who is a face on a cloud six thousand years ago.

Surely they were just doing some honest pandering and are not that stupid.

Surely .....

..... right ..... ?

1. Unfortunately ...
...my brief experience as a TA (at a medium sized university)showed me that you can attend college, get an education and still be a dimwit.

I was a TA for an environmental SCIENCE course ... there were always "a few" that disputed evolution. The scariest part, for me, was that these people tended to be education majors :puke:

2. I don't think so Stinky
they all have black holes in their brains where the science is stuffed so as not to cause cognitive dissonance with the fundie's version of the Bible

4. .... Right.

Tancredo, Huckabee and Brownback (somebody on DU commented that these guys' names sound like a gang of Gummi Bears) should have the backs of their knuckles examined for signs of dragging. The Three Fuckwit Gummi Bears are representative of their own unevolved base, to which they are pandering (pander bears?) -- but it's sincere because they certainly believe Gawd created them from a wad of swamp goo. A few hundred years ago they'd have been all over Galileo's ass, too.

5. it boggles my mind to think so...
...but Americans as a group are culturally proud of mass ignorance on a number of topics, and evolution is one of them. So who knows?

7. I didn't watch the debate
But I don't understand why that would even be one of the questions. I mean, it's not like they could outlaw it or anything. Debates should be about policies and not about beliefs.

11. Husb2Sparkly, there really are people who honestly don't believe evolution is real
And there are liars and panderers who say they don't believe it.

As for the sincerity of those three, I have no idea but don't really care.
