But that he is not going to run.

But Carter had already answered the question earlier. "Al Gore would be the best qualified to be president, but I'm afraid he's not going to run," Carter said. "I asked him to run a few times for 2008 and he said he wouldn't run. He asked me if I would run and I said, 'No.'"

1. I wish they would both team up and run.
Ironic though, how both men have fared far better as leaders after their political careers ended.

3. I agree.
Sad to say, but I think both are just too principled to be contemporary American presidents. The loss is ours.

5. Two thoughts:
(1) If Gore had been President instead of Bush, we would have been spared this disastrous war and all the toxic consequences that will be with us for years.
(2) If Gore were (re) elected in 2008, the whole world would give a sigh of relief and the USA would immediately regain its stature.

2. He said "I'm afraid he's not going to ... "
He didn't say he wasn't. Huge difference.

6. c'mon Gore....
....did America hurt your feelings?....stop pouting and run....it's bigger than you the individual....you have a duty to run as many feel you are the best the Dems could offer as President; a President that would understand the people and the big issues of our day; a President that would return this country (and the world) to some semblance of sanity....

....so, get off that fat ass of yours and start making plans to run....I didn't make you spend all those good-performance years in public service, you chose to do that yourself....and now when your skills and talent are truly needed, you're gonna let us down?....think of the kids....
