News of secret Gonzales memo irks lawmakers
MediaNews Washington Bureau
Article Launched: 05/05/2007 01:31:45 AM PDT

WASHINGTON - ~snip~ Even Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, who was Gonzales' lone defender during his recent Senate testimony, said the order should have been turned over to Congress.

"It's disturbing that Congress had to learn about the March 2006 memo through the press," Hatch said. "We should have known about this." ~snip~

The order granted D. Kyle Sampson, who was Gonzales' chief of staff until he resigned in March, and Monica Goodling, the Justice Department's liaison with the White House, the authority, "with the approval of the attorney general, to take final action in matters pertaining to the appointment, employment, pay, separation, and general administration." ~snip~

Sampson's attorney, Bradford Berenson, declined to comment Friday.

1. Hatch must adore being blindsided.
I was really expecting his name to turn up on the DC madam's list.

7. Probably doesn't have the type of service he requires
A bit more difficult to provide bestiality in Washington. Not the domestic variety... most likely farm animal. Swine would fit him best.

8. I bet the only reason he would had wanted to be the first to know...
so he would have Gonzales prepped to defend himself better.
