4. What's the FU score on that?
Edited on Mon May-07-07 10:19 AM by HereSince1628
Insults foreign country, insults foreign sovereign by claiming support for what they actually sought to suppress.

Insults visiting dignitary, and woman with allusion to her great age.

Demonstrates ignorance of American history.

Demonstrates inability to turn on brain prior to engaging mouth...

That's gotta be one of Bush's higher "Fuck Up" Scores

12. I understand that actress Helen Mirren turned down his state dinner
invitation, as well as a similar one at Buckingham Palace.

Quite apart from her being too busy working on another movie, why would any self-respecting Brit want to be seen eating formally with that blow-monkey in the White House?

27. Nah, it was after Laura had to recruit Condi
to convince Chimpolini to go "white-tie" for the queen. He's probably bent out of shape 'cause he can't wear his cowboy boots. I look for him to get all whiny if he has to stay up too late, too.

(Agree with you about Paris Hilton, though. :) )

24. It's in the WaPO now, Bush's verbal gaffe
"The audience laughed aloud at a verbal slip by Bush when he said the queen had dined with 10 U.S. presidents and had helped the United States "celebrate its bicentennial in 17..." Bush caught himself and corrected the date to 1976. Bush joked that the queen just "gave me a look that only a mother could give a child.""

28. You know, if I were going to meet the Queen,

I would have made sure my clothes fit properly. Don't they have any full-length mirrors in the White House? Doesn't Laura know you can see how your clothes fit in the back if you turn your back on the big mirror and use a hand mirror to see the reflection of your back?

I don't usually criticize her clothes but that suit jacket was pulling across the back, was just a mass of wrinkly pull lines. The sleeves also wrinkled as if they were too tight when she had her arms straight at her sides. I never got a good look at the front but from the side, it seemed to be pulling across the bust. The flouncy collar was dumb-looking, too, but she likes that sort of thing

I could understand it if I didn't know she can afford perfectly fitted clothes. She's not overweight, in fact she's thinner than she used to be so why is she wearing something that screams "I've gained weight"?

The Queen is 80 years old and has a far more matronly figure but her clothes fit well.

Condi ought to take Laura shopping and help her buy clothes that fit well. Preferably before the big white-tie dinner.

36. You could be right. It would explain a lot.

The colors she chooses are subjective choices but fit is an objective, measurable thing. Anyone who has ever made clothes notices fit immediately. That's a major reason for making your own clothes, fitting them to your unique body. But I would think that anyone would notice when something wrinkles and pulls.

The evening gown she wore this evening for the big white-tie banquet was ugly, having big flaps hanging down over her breasts. I never saw the back of it so I don't know if it was too tight.

Actually, fashion designers often design clothes that look horrible on women. They look fine hanging on a hanger but put them on a woman and there's a problem. Catalogs (and stores) are full of fashion horrors like horizontal stripes, patch pockets at the hip level, patch pockets over the breasts, etc., things guaranteed to make anyone who's not very thin look like a blimp.

I particularly notice them in catalogs because very often these unflattering styles are offered in plus sizes while styles that do not visually add pounds and inches are not offered in plus sizes. Seems like a conspiracy to make plus size women go naked.
