Non-competitive federal contracts skyrocket under Bush.

$145 billion in federal contracts were awarded without competitive bidding in fiscal 2005, more than double the $67 billion in fiscal 2000. Yet at the same time, “ailures of oversight into contracting procedures have made it possible for fraud, cronyism, and corruption to become prevalent in government,” according to a new report by Center for American Progress Senior Fellow Scott Lilly.

The report will be released on Monday at an event featuring Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA). If you live in the Washington, DC, area, RSVP for the event HERE.

1. Yet another reason to impeach. They aren't even being wise in handling
tax dollars. They waste them. And I'm not talking about paying $5 per roll of toilet paper, we're talking contracts worth thousands and millions of dollars!

This is irresponsibility at its worst.

Who here can be irresponsible consistently and expect to keep their job?

Bush shouldn't be able to get away with it either. Not when people are dying for lack of health care and prescription drugs.

4. While signing a completely different tune ...
What is the default position for republicans/conservatives - free markets ... This situation is completely indicative of their never ending ability to drag their sheeple along with quaint idealism while in fact doing the complete opposite ... Them there liberals just HATE free markets, free markets are the way of our founding fathers ... Yada, yada, yada ...
