Obama leading Hillary in new South Carolina poll...
According to a new poll out yesterday, looks like those who believe Obama can't win in the south just MIGHT be wrong.

POLL: InsiderAdvantage SC Primary

A new InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion automated survey of registered voters in South Carolina (conducted 5/8 through 5/9) finds:

2. What a weird mix of candidates.
Particularly on the Republican side. It seems so odd this cycle. I keep expecting the "real" establishment candidates to come forward, but can't identify who they are. An Obama-Guiliani race would be very interesting.

3. Five Republicans, and still 36% undecided? I can't really blame them.
I wouldn't want to pick one of those mooks either.

On the other hand, between just three Democrats, there's only 26% undecided. Cool.

4. What?
A poll where's he leading?

I thought Hillary had a monopoly on the polls?

5. It's weird...
But I think Obama will do better in the South and West, than he will the North (Edwards and Clinton seem to have a strong following in those areas). He seems to be drawing the biggest crowds in the South like Atlanta and South Carolina as well.

7. This is great news! We don't want to say "must win" but SC is clearly that for Obama.
Given where things are headed in Iowa, Nevada and NH, Obama is counting on SC to build momentum for the big day a week later - on February 5.

8. A week makes a huge difference or maybe polling agencies
make the difference.....A huge difference in numbers for both sides, but the repubs are extreme.

12. Over 50% of Democratic primary voters in South Carolina are African-American. It is a must-win state
for Obama.
